For those who are confused, the movie HTTYD was based off of a book series by the same name, in which they don't have an Astrid, not instead a character called Camicazi, likely due to her near deathwish level of bravery (example: jumping from the back of one flying dragon to the other). This meaning that Camicazi would not have been scared while riding Stormfly. Also, toothless was a rather pathetic dragon in the books, and was about the size of a cat. Hiccup's riding dragon comes later.

honestly! have you even read the books? this is not at all like camicazi. first of all, she’s said to be only four feet tall. second, it says she has really messy hair. third, why is she wearing a dress and jewelry? she’s more likely to be wearing something more like astrid is wearing. also, she doesn’t think of hiccup in a romantic way, or anyone. she doesn’t like the thought of being in a relationship. she thinks of hiccup more as a friend, and he’s sorta her hero, or idol, but not in a romantic way.
