Next time you people in America complain about your salary, try live on $1 / day. It's possible - Just not a lifestyle you'll be comfortable with.

The problem is that you shouldn't have to, no worker should ever have to live $1 / day , no one should ever have to be forced to live $1 / day that is why people complain, also people complain because while you have workers that live $1/ day, the company is announcing record profits, giving bonuses to all the managers and CEO You tell me, is that fair? Is it fair that human labor is worth so little, while all the Managers gets Thousands of dollars as bonuses. That is why people are fighting for a living wage, they aren't asking to live in penthouse with a water view, they just wanted to be able to live in a tiny apartment and work 9-5 without having to worry about if they have food tomorrow.

@@enightc Tell someone living in Chennai that $5/hour is low. They will laugh in your face. Being paid that much is their dream salary. To you, it's like someone going "I'm only being paid $250 / hour - It's a crap salary and I'm struggling to eat and pay my rent" You'd look at them and laugh in their face because it's a stupidly high amount of money to millions of people where you are. To much of the world, that's $5 / hour.

@@Reelix Again, you are placing that hatred at the wrong group of people. Everyone understands that it depends on the location, country and city that they are working in. But it has to be a living wage. If Rent is $1000 a month, a person must be able to earn more than $1000 a month so that they can pay off that rent as well as food. That is food for 30 days 2~3 times a day. A countries economy depends on people having excess money to buy items, tooth paste, cloth and shoes and many other little items that allows other companies to survive for the sales tax...etc. A company should not force 3 people to live in a single room, to eat only 1 meal a day and work 12 hour shifts just to survive. Unless you are a business owner that makes a living off people with paying just barely enough for them to survive, this logic shouldn't escape you. No one is asking for a luxury home driving a BMW and a private jet to work at a construction site. People just want enough so that they can work a job, and still go home to be able to rest on a comfortable bed, and a meal to recover.

​@@enightc Define "food". Bread and water is food. Wagyu steaks are also food. To someone, the first option is fine. To someone else, not being able to afford the second option would be "Not being able to afford food". With $10 and a soup kitchen, you can afford food for 30 days. Would you then consider $10 sufficient for food? I've seen people complain that spending $1000 on food isn't enough to feed them for the month because it's not enough to support their high-end lifestyle. Are you going to now defend that a thousand dollars a month is insufficient to feed a single person, or do you realize that some peoples definition of "enough" is WAY above what is ACTUALLY required? I personally feel that spending $2 on a single meal is expensive. Some people feel that spending $20 on a meal is cheap. Who is correct?

@@Reelix You are again trying to argue that paying a person the bare minimum to survive is sufficient, why? Why is paying someone the bare minimum just enough for them to live without dying is good enough for you? That is my only question for you, why is your fellow man and women and children's survival not important to you to raise the minimum wage to match what is the bare minimum for them in the area that they are in? Is a person's ability to afford a steak so important to you that you think they should have not spent that money on steak when they can? Are a person's ability to live comfortably too much, and that all workers must live a certain way for you? Why? Do you not feel better when another person working 10 hours a day get to enjoy a good meal ? Or is that too much for you, how dare they get to work 10 hours and still afford a Steak??!! Is a steak too good for these people in your mind, did they not work hard enough, and if they can afford it, do you think you had paid them too much, they should only be able to live off bread and water, and nothing else ?? How is that okay with you??
