But my question is, what do you do for people who believe all this, that their family is against them? Because you can tell them as much as you want that all this is not true, but they will be convinced it is and will hate us for trying to contradict them. My mother has been in this situation for years now and I dont even know what to do for her because in her head, she is right and she believes in anything those people tell her.

irine2705 I think the best way to help her is to strengthen her faith in Allah SWT. She needs to find her own way by doing salat, and reading the Qur'an. It is those two things that give a person a sense of spirituality, and insha'allah, she will understand the message of Islam and how greater sacrifices in this life will lead to paradise. Maybe if you got her to watch this video, that could also work ;)

It's not a common thing in western countries, however, where I come from, there are quite a few who claim to have healing powers, an alternative to what the doctors can offer you.

I agree completely but many a times people giving such solutions are well versed and scholars.For ex one person I know and doing such stuff is a Mufti.Its hard to believe that he must using Haram stuff.The confusion gets more when as solutions he will tell you to burn something in four corners of house while reciting sura baqrah.Its completely confusing.But I think it is better to die affected with sehar than get cured through shirk.DO REPLY AND END SOME CONFUSION
