I got a rescue cat. The original owner abused her so she has lost most of the capacity to be affectionate with humans.

I don't know how long you have had her but you just need to be patient. I know my pet is a dog but I don't know why a cat hound be so different as they are intelligent animals. My dog came from Rumania and was a street dog, she has a misaligned mouth a wonky hip and she had no idea how to play. For quite a while she hid under chairs in fact anything she could get under when you walked passed where she was she would tremble and shake. The vet thought she was about 2/3 years old but I think she was older, I thought we would have problems training her but she has been perfect, as I am elderly and my balance is not good I taught her to stay at the top of the stairs until I reached the bottom and going up she was taught to go up first and lay and wait at the top until I got upstairs. It took a long time to teach her to play and truth be told she's not that interested. I have had her for 4.5 years and she is the gentlest sweetest little dog anyone could wish for. But and there is a but she doesn't like men, she's fine now with family members but that's it. The only time she barks is if someone comes to the door, if she's accidentally left outside she just sits and patiently waits to be let in no scratching at the door or barking to let me know she's outside. She's a terrier and is the smallest dog I've ever had I've had two Heinz varieties and two sheepdogs one of which lived until she was 17.

That made me laugh, my boss calls it cat opera. i had c cat that liked to run up and down the halls meowing and going from window to window. Then you wake up and a cat is sleeping on your face.

its interesting that we can ascribe on an almost ubiquitous agreement to what cats are thinking and what their behaviors mean without a language communication, but we almost fall apart when we apply this type of assessing and understanding with ourselves.

I'm already planning on adopting a cat when I can afford one I hope it comes true :D I also found that if my sister werent allergic to cats and we had the money, my mum wouldn't mind having a cat! We've had one before so that makes sense haha.
