I’m so lost what to do and I want to get into voice acting for anime so bad but I really am lost. Thank you for the videos man, I am hoping to learn more and more ❤

For starters..listen carefully to all Timmy's video's, then continue to learn all you can about acting, voice technique, breathing, etc while practicing, practicing and practicing. Get a vocal coach and prepare to spend years training before earning a living from voice acting. Best of luck!!!

As someone who has auditioned for crunchyroll and got in on the roster and cast in One Piece. I think a lot of it has to do with Location. Since Im based in DFW I think they value talent being local. I know a lot of people have home studios but sometimes they prefer if new people come in and record at their own studio.

I would say that if that was the case they would probably mention it or remove the remote studio information on the google forum. But I have heard that there are some unspoken things they consider that they don’t list so I wouldn’t be surprised. But I do know more people who don’t live in DFW and have many anime credits more than I personally know those who are exclusively local to the studio. But, like I said in the video, I don’t have all the answers so anything could be true. Lol

You answered moreso "how to NAIL an anime audition" than "where to FIND anime auditions" which is what I thought this video was gonna be about based on the title. I'm ready to audition but I can't find them anywhere.

Checkout my other anime related content. There are quite a few videos I’ve done on the subject. I cover where to find the audition submission forms in at least two of them. It’s been a while so I’m not sure which one.

Pro tip: even if this is true, never say it. It sounds like desperation to anyone making those decisions, and if there is anything that people will run from in any situation, it is desperation.

Best alternative(in theory): Ask the KZbinrs who do Anime Abridged stuff if they're looking to add more people, and make sure your Demo is attached to the Email.
@FunnyGuyTimmy2 ай бұрын
@@JoeyDieselComedy Well yeah you can do that either way. But the topic of this video was official anime dubbing. An abridge isn’t recorded the same way. It’s not ADR/dubbing, it’s just standard pre-recording and is done without matching your voice to footage. So I generally don’t count it. A fan-dub however is different and does require ADR skills, but you can’t really make any money off those. Sadly, most people who do fandubs and/or abridges don’t end up doing official anime which is the thing most young VAs are really shooting for. Now what I would encourage, staying on the topic of auditions, is to practice with fandubs. That way you are at least getting used to the ADR process even if there are differences in techniques or software usage. That would probably prepare you more for official anime work than the abridges which are slightly more wester cartoon in style.

Curiousity question - are you union?
@FunnyGuyTimmy Жыл бұрын
As of right now, I am not. I live in a right-to-work state and haven't had many union-only projects in a close enough time to qualify. But if I was to go to Dallas and start getting more anime work, I might. Some streaming platforms will only work with union VAs now so I would want to open all opsibilities.

Ah, okay. Cool. Was just curious. I work in audiobooks and I've seen your channel a time or two over the past several years. I try to keep my eyes (and ears) open for new talent, so I was going to let our managers know about you. We try to keep exclusively non-union though. Have you ever narrated an audiobook or do you just perform voice work only?

Timmy would be excellent at audiobook reading. @@CynsCorner
