this has been mentioned in the comments already, but the kitty camp audio was narrated by lou fernandez (loureads) as stated on musicbrainz, quote: "Additional narration by King Lou Fernandez of Lou Reads the Internet for YOU! (It's really awesome and you should listen to it!)" i checked out pretty much all his podcast episodes around 2009 (and other websites since the site doesn't include all) and didn't hear this story anywhere. it might've been specifically recorded for this album with devi presumably being the one who wrote it but i don't want to dig anymore because it's pretty irrelevant, i was just bored tonight

the tender surrenders lyrics are definitely very trans but i've also always interpreted it as a song about grooming too. lots of devi's music has themes of questionable relationships like sugar pool or treat me like a doll also w/ the incredible rumbly grumbly of my insecurity i've always kind of looked at it through a certain lens as someone who's struggled w eating/body image (how do you keep the weight off?) but i just made the connection w the title the other day.. /the incredible rumbly grumbly of my insecurity/ definitely a motif going on. that's my interpretation anyways!
