It's perfect! Not more. Simply perfect. Beethoven wold compose it exactly like Ethan played if he would live now.

Adding this reply to say that 2:22 to the end is my favourite part to repeat! Such talent.

You’ve been a real inspiration to my ragtime playing over the past 5 years . I didn’t realise you had your own channel as I’ve always seen you playing on other channels . I look forward to more music from you on this channel.

Fantastic! I was hoping you won this competition, so I had to look it up. Happy I did! Can you link, or make a playlist, for the other years you won?

thanks for the kind words! There used to be lots of contests videos on the ragtimepress KZbin channel, they had millions of views, but they deleted them for some reason I dont quite understand. Contest was like 15 years ago, and I entered several times, and I dont remember what I played what year. I know I played "you're the cream in my coffee" and "Chopin nocturne" which I have versions of on my own channel. Also "Rockin Chair" I believe.

Some pp have that gift; special knack to pinch it smack in the middle. This is a very special exceptional unique ability to execute.

Shame this doesn't include the discussion prior to the rendition, that was very charming.

@@EthanUslan hi hi hi(😁😁😁)! that was so difficult to me and it was a challenge to improve my skills. Still, after about a year, when I was playing, other academy students applauded at the door of my practice room, and at the cafe where I worked in Korea, I hid the fact that it was a recording and put it in a cafe playlist. Some of the cafe customers said to the other person during the conversation, “Hold on a minute,” and while listening to the playing, they simply told the other person that it was a jazz arrangement for Elysee and that it was cool. I'm shy, but the original author commented I'll reveal it. 😁😁 I'm not good at English, so I used a translator, but I'm not sure if the sentences are awkward or not. 🙏
