I used the template I created with this video to make a dry run pair with some extra fabric before I actually made the fur pair to check that I liked the sizing. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!

I can't believe how longwinded this video is and how obvious it is after 15 seconds and how it takes 37 minutes for you to make your point that could be done in 3 minutes. I also can't believe how many people think it's great. You need the patience of Job to wade through this.

What great videos about making mittens. I am making my son and his wife a pair with beaver inside, Mt coyotes for the out, and leather from a deer hide for the "ties". Can't wait to get started.....Pics later (I hope)

I don't understand how you came to the garment measurements from your hand measurements? Did you just add a certain amount to your hand measurements, or increase the size by a percentage?

Great looking mittens. Im having a lot of trouble getting the thumbs right. DO you or anyone else have a pattern that can be printed off?
@leedarkfeathers11 ай бұрын
Im super late to the party but this will be nice for my rabbit stash. If i wanted to do a trigger mitt, do you think theres a whole lot of extra steps invoved or should i be ok just rounding off a finger from the main part?
@SaskHunting11 ай бұрын
Can’t see it being a major issue, but you may want to do a mock prototype with random material first to ensure that the pattern is correct before you use it on a fur?

What is the thickness of the wool that you lined your mittens with, and where did you find it? Would you go that same route again? I just cut out this pattern. Going to do a mock up and then make a go at it with beaver.
@SaskHunting3 жыл бұрын
It was a repurposed shearling coat. It was approximately 3/4” thick . Purchased the coat at value village in Saskatoon for $20 I think; wore it for years previously. Just didn’t wear it anymore and needed a liner for this project. It was kind of hard to cut the coat up, but it went to a good cause!

Just found this video, are the templates still available? And if so, where might I find them?
@SaskHunting8 ай бұрын
This is the “how to video” on how to make a custom made pattern to specific measurements. This will give you the knowledge to create your own custom measurements. This is necessary as you will not want to go through this entire process and later realize it’s too small or too big. Just saying:) personally this template is a little too small for me in the flared gauntlet. Live and learn;)
