Thank you! This video takes me bad to watching my dear Mom sew fur pelts, mostly Mink and Chinchilla. She began working for Gold Seal Chinchilla in Tacoma, Washington, when I was about 5 years old. Some of her coats for featured on "Town and Country" magazine. After we moved to the East Coast, she stopped sewing with a fur machine but continued her career as a seamstress. She met up with a man who worked for the government but also wanted to sew and market fur coates and stoles. He bought her this big fur machine which was in a cast iron frame. The main part looked some like yours, although the wheels had more pronounced teeth. She worked hours a day loved the work, and allowed me to 'try my hand at it' once in a while😊 This video reminded me just how precious she was to me and how time makes those moments golden. Thank you again for walking me though the moments I had with my Mom.❤

Thank you! I have one and this is the only video that has shown me close up clear instructions on how to not just thread it but how to make it work!

Thanks Walt for the straight forward explanation and clear closeups. Finally a video that doesn’t look like it was shot in the early 80’s on VHS!

Hallo Mr. Walt, Thanks for the very clear explanation. The camera work is very good and clear. Ten years ago i bought a complete Albook& Hashfied single thread and already a Singer double thread. I had no manual but instruction but managed to work with it roughly. Your film inspires me to explore these machines to next level! Thanks a lot! Hans from Rotterdam Holland

I was looking for an answer on how to fix the end of your seam so that it doesn't rip out again. Found the answer in your video. Thanks a lot, that was very helpful. Many greetings from Germany.

Walt, I have watched your videos and I reloaded this one today just to see the thread spool set up as mine was causing me problems. I solved it just like you did, with the plastic lid off a Folgers coffee can!!!!

Hi there I'm a complete novice but very dedicated so I want to invest into a fur sewing machine, recommendations??
@kamiewhitehead83373 жыл бұрын
And what do I need to make sure is included with the machine or things to look out for if I'm buying second hand
@stanzuray3 жыл бұрын
@@kamiewhitehead8337 The used Bonis Model BB I bought right from the company that used to make them. Was still a family business last I knew 8 years ago. They were said to be a high quality machine and the company goes over them before sending them out and you can get needles etc also from them. Was a personal buying experience. Google around for number or get back with me and I can maybe find it.

Awesome video :) I really like the hand crank modification :D The one I have has an old clutch motor and at times, it is very hard to control on small pieces. I might give that a try for a future project!

Thanks for the great video, Walt! Do you think a machine like this would be suitable for thick faux fur as well? My fiancee makes costumes out of it and our basic machine gets bound up all the time trying to handle the fur.

I have an Osann fur sewing machine just like this one. It was my dad's, who was a furrier from days of old. I remember playing/practicing on it when I was quite young. I've got this machine up and working again on the original table with foot pedals and all and just need to find the right needles for it. Can you please advise where I can purchase them? I see you are using the 292 12A needles here but can't find them on the internet. Your help is appreciated!
@tommygamba1703 жыл бұрын
I have an Osann fur #22416A machine. Looks almost like yours. Didn't know where to get the needles. I'm sure it's a 292system but how thick or what size to use. I have 1 needle and the eye is so small. I'm guessing it's about 12.
