Furious Outlaws - Sung Kang and Magnus Walker

I recently had the opportunity to meet up with Sung Kang and drive his Datsun 240z, called the FuguZ, on my favorite road Angeles Crest highway. It was a cool day swapping cars and driving something different in the crest for a change. My favorite thing about this car was that it revved to 9000rpm!

Two men I respect a lot. Sung Kang is humble, a quality I do not see on most car guys. Magnus is a living legend, he probably forgotabout cars more than I'll ever learn. As a 15 year old adolescent, I consider these two my examples of what to be as a man.

The problem is that the golden days of highway racing in Japan ended over a decade ago. The closest thing we have now that I know of is roll racing here in the states, and that's just a bunch of rich guys in Lambos and Corvettes flooring it for 10 seconds at a time.

After watching this video some 5 months ago ( Currently April 2017 ) I made it a mission to get up to "The Crest". I made this "Bucket List" trip happen last weekend ( April 23rd ). Newcomb's ranch was great. The motorcycles out there were awesome. However, the vast array of specialty cars was beyond imagination. Porsche 918, Classic Ferrari's, A street legal open wheel race car even. Well worth the trip! Thanks for the inspiration!

gary, the prices for these Z's have been steadily rising last couple years. i bought my 260z in 2010 for 3k running and was my daily for 2 years until it was totaled. tried getting into another one last year and prices have since doubled! im thinking this is just going to speed that rate up! u better pick one up soon ;D

Having a good time while building the car is the most important aspect to me. I bought an abused old Escort Mk1 in July, and I have my cousins over every week and we work on it, jokes around and having a good time. We hope it will be ready for the rallycross track the comming summer.

Good shout, not enough mk1's about anymore. I sold a guy a 1UZ FE V8 to go into into his mk1 many years ago, if you ever go down the engine swap route you should consider the Toyota quad cam V8, it revs freely and fairly high and the power delivery actually really suited the car, plus at least 250bhp on factory ecu for the earlier models up to 270/280 bhp on the later VVT i engine.
