Thanks for tempting me into preordering this game. Strangely enough, it has a Keyflower vibe to me: bidding for control over a tile, adding it to your tableau, or using its ability once.

Looks like a beefier version of Century: Spice Road. Preordered!

I would not compare the two. I played it twice and did not feel the Century vibe at all. Century plays a lot faster, one action at a time. So you always have the feeling of moving towards your goal. in Furnace, it takes a few minutes before the auction ends for you to see the result of your uncertain moves. Only once you are done do you see the fruits of your labor. Still a fast game, still an engine builder, not the same feel. Solid biding mecanic.

If edwards power was to use steel instead of an upgrade token… it seems he missed a ton of opportunities to spend steel for points on some of his cards…
