I always loved the glossy look. I haven’t decoupaged since the ‘70’s. My brother loved refinishing old furniture. He refinished our father’s part cane highchair from when he was a baby 1921. I still have it. My brother has since passed away, too, but left a legacy for me to love refinishing; and all the steps that go with it. Thanks for your share.

I love the details on this table and silver against black is always magic. I did something similar to my table but instead of using the silver I used gold leaf but it wasn't just gold leaf it was a mixture of purple, emerald green, sky blue, gold and silver. I found that at Michael's and I freaking love the look. Your table is beautiful.

You could see the beautiful potential of this table before you even started to upcycle it. What a great buy for only $10! I love the Mint Decoupage paper as well, and you're right about the sizes. They come in either A3 - which is the smaller size - and A1, the biggest size. So, they're not really suitable for small projects, like jewelry boxes and so on. They're perfect for furniture makeovers.

I love antiques and just about cried at the thought of you ruining such a beautiful old Victorian piece. I have to admit the finish was amazing, though an antique purest would cringe. I don’t think what you have done has permanently damaged the historical value, in the future as fashions change, as they usually do it can be removed, and taken back to the original look if wanted. Very nice job, I have l loverly reproduction antique style dining setting l am going to paint now, your videos have given me so many ideas.

I loved it...until... the final display showed a vibrantly glossy (amazing) finish... but the cutting of the decoupage paper in a haphazard fashion and the caviar brush strokes on the paper showed up like a sore thumb in contrast. It turned the piece from a 'must buy' into a 'so sad, total fail' for me. She is obviously skilled and not an amateur, so please people don't hate on me for voicing my opinion. I was so happy to see you brighten up the detail work - a very nice touch.
@FlipItFurniture3 жыл бұрын
I’m the first to admit my mistakes and If there were brush strokes I would probably point it out but I have to say proudly that this one is brush stroke free. I do appreciate your feedback. I enjoy seeing from another’s perspective. Thank you!

Ah yes! Okay i got it. That’s the decoupage paper. I probably should have gone in further with my caviar. It’s the contrast of color from the dark black paint over the lighter black paper. I’ve looked at that 100 times and didn’t see it as you did so I’m glad we had a chat. I will be looking out for that in my next decoupage project. Thanks!

I wish people would use reproductions for these projects. However it was in bad condition so at least it keeps going. The treatment is stunning. What would be the difference if you used a floral tissue paper? Also, PLEASE don't have your pets in the space with you while working with toxic chemicals. Your dog shouldn't be breathing that in either. Anyone with birds- don't risk it. Birds are highly susceptible to toxins in the air.

This is really pretty I just wish you have taken the time to actually cut out the flower pattern instead of just cut around it so all that excess paper is showing. Even if you paint it it will show. I think the results would be even nicer if you took a little extra time to cut out your flowers completely instead of leaving that unseemly paper showing around it. But I love your stuff.

@@FlipItFurniture Thanks for the reply. Not only did I ruin my lung with it,my grand baby kept breaking out in a rash that the doctors couldn’t diagnose. They just didn’t know what it was.
