Beautiful grain in that wood. Nothing like old furniture

Right? And the smell of sawdust from old wood like this is one of my favorite smells on earth!

Good morning from Greece, just found out your channel and subscribed. I believe the number 2005 you are referring is the number of tables this firm has made. Some time when furniture are made by manufacturers are numbered. Have a great day and hope for more videos to come.

Thanks for the info! I love all learning all these things about older furniture pieces. Thanks so much for being here! 🥰

You did a great job restoring this piece. I'm glad you are forcing your husband to use a coaster hahaha

Teeheehee 🤭 I'll just be standing over here, next to the table, holding a stack of coasters. Just in case. Thanks so much!

Table looks great! But can we talk about how much I laughed when you came in with that coaster all stealth like? 🤣😂 Beautiful furniture, silliness, and bleeped out swearing... That's definitely my jam! PS- "Now your back's gonna hurt because you just pulled landscaping duty." 🤪

No rings on this table after all that work, no ma'am! I'll be hovering behind the sofa with a stealth coaster for the next 10 years 😆🤣 Omg sooo glad you got the Happy reference! I had to get creative, otherwise it's just a video of me sanding... and sanding... and sanding... 🤪

Gorgeous result - well done! Didn't realize Paine stopped making furniture that long ago. Thanks for that info. BTW, I have a table with similar feet - also missing 1. If you find replacements, please let me know. Also, love the book Matt is reading, written by this very creative, multi-talented gal! ;-)

Yeah I was also surprised to read that they stopped making furniture so long ago. Happy to share the info! I love doing that kind of research. Ooh, okay we should measure yours because if I find some I'll just pick them up. It makes me wonder, how does just 1 foot go missing?! Ah, yes. Shameless self promotion 🤣 Thanks so much! 🥰

@@CopperCactusDIY There's a store in downtown Boston that might have what we need. If I ever get there again, I'll let you know, unless you've already found them elsewhere. Thank you!! 🥰

I can definitely appreciate the amount of work that went into that. I know you can't show hours and hours of scraping and sanding but the very reference to hands hurting - I get that. Hands, fingers, back, legs with the buffet I'm working on. Total novice afraid to take electric sander to it and now that I have it stripped, scraped and sanded back to it's original state I know I could have bloomin' hit it with my orbital sander! Oh well lesson learned. You did a fabulous job on the table and it's such a beautiful piece anyway. Well worth the effort. Hope you find somewhere that supplies the claw feet. Well done. Love the sneaking in with the coaster at the end. I was screaming in my head "NOOOOOooo don't put that mug down!" Thanks for relieving my angst!!

It's crazy just how much work goes into full restoration! A buffet is a huge piece, glad you got it worked out (but secretly happy to hear you can relate to the struggle). I wasn't planning on the orbital but the top finish was just too thick to do by hand. I prayed to the power sander gods the whole time lol. And yup, we're buying stock in coasters now! 🤪 Thanks so much!

WOW!! This turned out gorgeous!! Just found your channel through the Ugly Duckling Challenge and just subscribed. A couple of KZbin furniture restorers you might want to reach out to for that other brass foot at Emily from Transcended Furniture Gallery, Barry from MCM and Dashner. They do a lot of restorations, veneer replacement, MCM, vintage, etc. One of them might know. This was a gorgeous transformation and way to go on stabilizing those legs (gotta love Rockler)! I’m sure your husband loves it!

Hey thanks so much Ashley! Great advice, those folks are some of my favorite channels for restoration. The hubs is really happy with his table now and I'm glad to have it stabilized. Thanks so much for watching! 🥰
