‘Why is he being so gentle..?’ Was all I could think as he held me, ‘Why is this relaxing…?’ I thought as he licked my face and ears, ‘Why.. why does this feel good..?’ I thought as he nommed my arm, a bit freaked out through my fear though by just how strong he was, but also confused by how gentle he was being at the same time. I couldn’t believe how much I… was enjoying this… and acknowledging that fact did NOT help how flustered I was either. As he hugged me, and I felt the changes start to take place, I felt a spike of fear run through me, what if this hurts? What if lose myself? What if I become a monster?! But then… he was comforting me… walking me through what was happening, keeping me in the moment… As he described what was happening, I realized it didn’t hurt, I wasn’t losing my humanity. I could still think and reason and wonder. In this moment, I almost cried from how much I was feeling right now. Relief that it didn’t hurt and that I was still in my right mind, bewildered peace because I felt so… understood like this, a subtle urge to howl and make my new presence known… The warm fuzzy feeling that had started in my chest I could now feel in every inch of my new body, and it pulsed slightly every time he called me a good boy, my tail wagging in response. Which was a weird feeling, but.. not a bad one. All of this was somehow so gentle and… and comforting, I felt a little silly now for having believed for so long that something like this would be a horrible experience, full of pain and bloodlust and forgetting who you were while you were a wolf. But now, cuddling here with him, my… I guess my alpha? Was that the right term.? I just… felt so safe… and comfortable… looking up at him, now in his own wolf form, I felt my tail wag again from the sudden, though no less comforting knowledge, that I was… That I was at home, in a different sense than you might normally think but… I felt completely at _home._
