Furry bewares are becoming problematic in 2023

Other petty bewares I've seen that are completely invalid is when someone sells a fursuit and they express in their sale that it is lowquality and needs refurbished and they state everything that is wrong with it (such as the sewing, glue, fur quality, uneven shaving, etc.) in their sale and then sell it for cheap and someone buys it and then makes a beware post of the seller, claiming hey were "ripped off" or "scammed" with a damaged low quality suit. I stay away from facebook sales groups because of how petty people are when they get what they paid for.

Another type of furry beware that is also ridiculous is this one "I don't agree with this person's political beliefs that means you should be aware of them and stay away from them because they're evil because they don't agree with me" now I'm not saying that this one is very common but but in the online environment where people are very opinionated and refuse to accept opposite opinions it can't happen

I had a beware put on me by some early 20's furries just because I'm what they say too old to be in the fandom and they tried to get me banned from events. It's gonna be funny when they find out that the events are organized by gray muzzles. I met others that got that beware pinned on them just because they had a difference of opinion on a friggen video game.

Definitely appreciate this 💝✨ as someone who follows thousands of people, I know who approximately 6 (six) of those people are. I'm constantly worried that someone is gonna put up a beware on me because I follow someone who reblogged a homophobic post on Tumblr in 2012 or something like that. Maybe I'm paranoid, but sometimes it really does seem like it gets that bad out there 😅 so it's good to see someone pointing this out ✨

in my opinion most false bewares are usually made by bad eggs in the community anyways. i had my own experience where me and someone in the community simply had a small negative interaction. literally nothing too big. they just didnt appreciate my somewhat lewd sense of humor. it was an 18+ space and nothing said was ever directed at anyone who wasnt also involved int the discussion. this person was friends with alot of mods in that community and had me banned from some of the closer spaces we were in. sucks but not that big a deal. if theyre so uncomfortable with me they want to play that card i dont want to be involved with them anyways. but heres where problems really started to evolve. i ended up unintentionally befriending some people that this person also was friends with and was invited into their spaces. this very much upset the bad egg. she would continue to get me banned from places i wasnt even in yet. i would find a new community through a friend and was already pre-emptively banned from there. at this point i kind of understood what was going on and was frustrated by it, so i talk to my friends about it. one of them talked to her about it. SHE DM'D ME ON (formerly twitter) and told me that it is very inappropriate to talk to MY FRIENDS about the situation (also called me a freak because of my twitter activity seeing as to how im into vore, so kinkshaming too. yay!)... even though she clearly has been telling hers about me. feeling a little gaslit i decide to actually talk to someone i know are direct mutuals between her and I. they agreed at the time that her behavior was odd and hippocritical. idk what they talked about but the next morning i was removed from basically EVERY SERVER that her, and our mutuals shared. she had made a post about how i was stalking her through her friends (who i didnt even meet through her) and told everyone that we were mutuals with that i was just using them to get to her -_-. and to make it worse one of her friends had even doxxed myy full IRL name, my personal Email, and my paypal info that they got through a paypal interaction with them. this was such a huge blow because at the time i considered alot of them friends, and had even done art for some of them. its been a year and im only just now starting to make a comeback in certain places i was wrongfully banned from. i want nothing to do with that person or any of those "Friends" ever again. and it all stemmed from just one small interaction. the pettiness from some people in this community is truly astounding.

Reminds me of my situation where I got witch hunted for 5 years straight on the Internet... And they didn't know that they were potentially harming a 15 year old kid who was trapped in some situation with a dude in their 30's(I was 15 when this started and finally ended when I was 20... I'm 25 years old now), they kept finding my multiple different accounts my personal ones that people shouldn't know about unless they are family or are friends who I know in person. And it all started cause I did something inappropriate for my age(Regarding an 18+/NSFW situation that I was groomed into), the person who groomed me wasn't a furry, but I was a furry and they got me to do things that I was uncomfortable with but felt incredibly pressured cause they said that they'll call my parents and tell them that I'm doing things I shouldn't be doing (even though it wasn't me who initiated the interaction, they did it themselves) all cause I said I'm making a beware on you! And then they.... Pulled that on me and made up the story that I was actually an adult pretending to be a kid... When it wasn't the truth... And to get that PROVEN my real age, I actually took a photo of myself and my ID card with my username(Blocking out the details on the card so no actual numbers and such would be exposed)... I did this when I became 20 years old and dropped all of the screenshots and recordings of the entire situation I had online... That's where people finally started backing off from me. But of course... Those who do remember that false beware on me, still to this day might jump on me. Although it's incredibly rare now as it's mostly died down. It's absolutely horrible truly...

I've been talking about this lately too. The beware videos over petty shit doesn't help the image of the fandom as a whole either. It's drama for drama sake and views. Also sometimes but not always accusing people of very illegal shit isn't always true but it gets attached to someone just because they have different political beliefs or something. I don't use Twitter much at all anymore because of drama overall in and out of the fandom.

I agree completely, people should not be “reported” on for things they did such a long time ago. Everyone makes mistakes, but they can also change and correct that behavior.

noticed you mentioned the follower and following thing. I had someone come to me about someone they saw I followed. they weren't agressive about it and informed me about the person, stating that they figured I didn't even know or remembered I followed them or that I knew what they did (which it was a genuine thing that the person I followed did) this person was simply politely looking out for me and didn't want people to come after me for it. that's how that should be handled, making a beware out of the blue about someone for following them doesn't make sense. cause they may not even remember that they follow that person to begin with.

I think of I don't finish in a certain time, the furries will be like "I asked for this thing a weak ago, and I still have not got it!" Bewares now are becoming so petty that when a serious actually threat shows up it’s just seemed as “another petty drama” back then bewares were taken more serious and people took action. But now it’s just everywhere and it’s sad :( going back to the quote. What you said with people change and we shouldn’t hold there past against them, I agree! And the quote says exactly what I mean. Choose kindness and be gracious of the people around you. Most of these bewares can and should be done privately. You don’t need a beware to be “right” yes we should be aware of actually threats in the community, but before you even think of making a beware think “does this need. To be spoken about?” if not you should be kind to the person who didn’t know or made that mistakes ages ago❤ kindness is powerful tool

Couple of things: first of all, when someone puts out a petty beware, then it takes the edge off of the whole beware system, because when a serious beware gets put out, people will suspect it's a petty one, just because so many petty ones are out there. Second, I think people just get such a hormone-charge out of doing something righteous---finding a villain to defeat---that they're very much into cancel-culture and want it to continue. It's not really doing any good in the long run, but people enjoy tricking themselves into believing it is too much to stop.

I... Actually had to forget the past and everything myself cause it was actually doing me far more harm to myself than improving myself. And I nearly... Took myself as a result cause I had extreme despise and utter hatred of myself that got worse and worse over the years and I snapped. But when I forced myself to forget everything literally... Greatly improved and everyone who knew me noticed this on a huge level. I do not believe as a personal experience that it is healthy at all and sees it as more harmful to ones self than to help. I say this as I do have several disorders that makes such thought processes and emotional control incredibly difficult to handle. I don't really recommend it. But supposedly others... Do yourself... But just keep in mind that as well as sometimes the past is the most traumatic experience as well and not everyone can handle it at all even with therapy.

The vast majority of furs don't stick around for an entire decade. They find furry and stick around for a few years then go on to new things as furry is just a fad they are going through. I have been around for two decades and have quite the history and no one really gives a crap about what I have done in the past as it has no affect on them in all likelihood they wont be around after a few years. The younger the fur is when they join the fandom the more likely they will be gone soon enough. The vast majority of furs don't need to worry about any of this as either it will blow over as the truth normally comes to light over time or they will be gone and no one will remember them. I could name thousands of fur bewares from the past but as they are long gone its totally pointless.

In fact, it has become an even stronger bond than ever before that makes me never want to let go, no matter what has happened.
