In front of the Rohanji Temple, there is a series of 100-meter-high hills with bizarre rocky peaks and natural bridges at the top, as if a folding screen is spreading out in front of the temple. The main way to enter the temple is through the tunnel under the old arhat, so the view looks like the gateway to the temple.
The highest peak of the tunnel is called Biraibong, the peak with two caves to the north of it is called Tenjinbashi, and the group of rocky peaks that juts out significantly to the south on a series of ridges is called Gotabong. The name "Ko-arhat" seems to be derived from the appearance of the arhats lined up on the mountain, and there is an old legend that a stone Buddha in the vicinity jumped over the mountain like this overnight.
