Should the opponent fail to stay in the corner as directed by the referee, the referee shall stop the count and redirect the boxer to go back to the corner and resume the count at the point that it was interrupted. In the event of any knockdown, the timekeepers count will cease when picked up by the referee whose count shall prevail and be relied on by the boxers.* yall bitches got beaten 3 times by the King

There's a CLOCK you can watch right in the video. He goes down at 16s left, at 6s he's already on his feet nearly standing straight up which means hes on his 2 feet before that. These are big man too. So this was hardly a slow count.. but the count is not even 10 secs, its the refs 10 count and it's final. Even if Deontay had teleported to his corner it'd still be a good count. But there's more, the entire count shouldn't have even started when it was.... He tells Wilder to go to the neutral corner and it turns out he's not even in the right corner, he went to HIS corner. By the rules....the count doesn't start until the opponent is in the neutral corner. If they leave it, it stops and then picks back up when they are. Deontay runs by the camera at like 8 secs to go to the corner he's suppose to be in after he's yelled at for it. So either way, like it or not, he was up in time AND Deontay wasn't in the corner so the entire count should have been paused until he was. This is all in the rules. This is not an intepretation.

Plus if the count was faster, Fury probably would have got up faster. Fighters naturally get up at a strategic time within the count.
@a925sw5
@a925sw5 2 жыл бұрын
@@rizzyullah You can clearly see Fury strategically used what time he can, doesn't get up any quicker than he needs to. The count is not 12...10.05 IT'S OVER. There are fights that have been called off that quick but its bc they were not even there. Fury was very clearly conscious of what happened, what he needed to do etc. So yes that's a great fair point, he very probably would have got up a little quicker. People want the rules followed to a T and then bend them in their favor, but when its followed to a T and something doesn't suit them. You're the problem...the world is the problem...accusations. IMO this performance, despite the issues he had leading into the fight made it not as clean, proves all of the conspiracy about the last fight wrong. But I know they won't ever see it that way.

you could tell by the way he sat on the ground that he was not in anyway dazed. when this happens a fighter will use the full count to get a breath. no matter how fast the count he was gonna be up and ready. also the only reason people call this count slow is because check the first count. the ref went extremely fast.

@a925sw5
@a925sw5 2 жыл бұрын
@@amirkiller008 Lol, I don't agree bc that's not when you'd count someone down and at 5? That's not how the rules are even written or how it ever is. These guys are not computers. There's a process and several things that have to happen before the count even starts.The ref is a human being, separate the fighters, opponent to go neutral corner, okay pick up the count. Okay he's up, assess the situation. Thats all normal crap, nothing unfair. But lets say you want to stretch it out all the way and pretend that was the case. That's still not when youd start the count. The ref has to break the action, the opponent HAS to go to the furthest neutral corner. If the opponent does not or leaves, the count stops and resumes once theyre back in the corner. Deontay went to HIS corner, he runs across the scree at like 8 secs. So if you want to follow the rules to a T, which is what you're trying to do, that count shouldn't have even started until He the END of Fury's count. That's when Wilder was finally in his corner. Or are we not following the rules here? All a person has to do is BEGIN TO RISE. BEGIN...to rise....it does not say....THE COUNT SHOULD NOT STOP UNTIL THE FIGHTER IS STANDING VERTICAL 90 degrees from where they fell" I mean if that's the kind of thing you want, then I guess Fury never even got knocked down bc he was never all the way on the ground....but you want to count not being stood erect? And again it's not even 10 secs that he had to be up by, it was the refs count. You'd be pissed if it was Wilder and screaming he was up, he was okay, its not fair, he cheated, the ref...but since it's the other way. I don't under bc any reasonable person can read the rules and look at that and clock and go yeah that's not a count out, not a count out anything, bc you'd never count someone out who was in complete control and aware of what was going on, what he needed to do etc.

Here is the rule folks: "When a boxer is knocked down, the referee shall direct the opponent to move to the farthest neutral corner of the ring. If the opponent leaves the neutral corner, the referee shall interrupt the count and will not resume the count until the opponent returns to the neutral corner." When the ref got to the 5 count, he had to make sure Wilder was in the neutral corner because Wilder was out of the corner. That gave Fury about 3 to 4 more seconds and the ref picked up the count at 6 as he was supposed to do. So to be honest, if Wilder or anyone is upset, be upset at Wilder for not staying in the neutral corner which is what paused the counting. Besides, the punch that floored Fury looks suspect. Looks like a clubbing shot that was mainly to the back of his head while Wilder was holding with his left hand. It's basically the same punch he landed on Stiverne that was behind the head in their 2nd fight which stunned him.

@@CaliRosem_ the purpose of the person on the ring side is to guide the referee where the count starts. Then the referee now counts on his own. The rule also states that if the boxer moves out of the neutral corner the referee will stop the count and will only resume when the boxer is in the neutral corner. That's why all boxers who have the presence of mind will immediately run to a neutral corner when the opponent is knocked down. Wilder, somehow didn't thus the rule applied to him. Also, when Wilder got knocked down in the third round, the referee also reached the count of 8 in 12 seconds. So he is consistent in his counting, the difference is the suspension of the count due to Wilder not being on the neutral corner.

As much as I wanted Wilder to win, it’s a 10 Count not 10 seconds. The ref stopped the count at 5 and told Wilder to get back in the corner, and then started back at 6 and Fury was up. It’s clear as day, if you know about Boxing of course.

Sadly a lot of people aren't aware of the rules. Either they don't watch that much boxing due to the decline in popularity or maybe am just old having seen the glory days of boxing in the 80s, 90s up till now. The rules are pretty clear (stay in the neutral corner or the counting will be stopped) and now these YT conspiracy theories are now bending the rules just because their boxer looses. Am neither a Fury or Wilder fan but am happy that this trilogy happened as it is the much needed boost that boxing needs. But all this conspiracy and complaining might negate what was achieved by these two great fighters.

Yes because Wilder was not in a neutral corner. As per boxing rules: "3.  If the opponent fails to stay in the farthest corner, the referee shall cease counting until the opponent has returned to his or her corner and shall then go on with the count from the point at which it was interrupted." Count was interrupted at 5 when Wilder was not in a neutral corner, then resumed at 6 when Wilder was already in the neutral corner. That's what most of these videos deliberately fail to point out. Not sure if they are not aware of the rule because any boxing fan knows this rule. That's why most boxers run to the neutral corner and stay there when they knock an opponent down so that the count would not be interrupted. Any boxer knows this.

Had Wilder not interrupted the Ref's count, the outcome of this fight might have been different. It was a stupid move by Wilder.. This was a Seahawks passing on the goal line with Marshawn Lynch in the backfield type of mistake in sports that will forever be looked at. Both fighters deserved to be in this fight. 100%. In boxing, there are so many factors that might come into play on a given night to determine "who (was) the better fighter" on a given night. As we debate the nuances of this bout, its a shame we will have to consider these 4 extra seconds forever, at all. Ya just had to run the damn ball (maybe). This shit is in the rules, it literally outlines and details the guidelines for this exact type of situation. There's established precedent as well. It's not what we think, its how it is. When it's good for what outcome you want you want to follow the rules, but if its not then they're out the window. If you want to get into the nitty gritty, maybe the fight should have been called off in the 3d when Fury knocked Wilder down and the ref gave him 22 secs to recover and I'm being generous with a couple seconds there. It doesn't matter it was a standing count, he had no idea what was going on and it took him 15 more secs before he even responded to the refs commands. Or are we ignoring this count? This isn't my opinion, this literally was how it happened. And by yours and everyone else's definition it should have been called because Wilder could not recover in time. Had the ref not given him more than 2x as much time it'd have been over. It's a sport, there's game ship and learning how to compete. Fury was listening to the ref, had he needed to stand up 1 secs sooner he'd have done so. Or he could have done like Wilder and got up and been falling all over the place and needed 15 additional secs to recover. I'm a fan of both of these guys. I hated seeing Wilder lose. But it doesn't change what I saw. He was also falling all over Fury 4 or 5 other times, catch himself just enough to stay up, that's great it's what you should do. He has nothing to be ashamed of, there's always going to be someone who can beat you if you fight long enough. And Zero Grav I'd be interested to know your thoughts on the amount of time Wilder was given in both knock downs, around 22s in the 3rd and 24s in the 10th.

No that's not a standing 8 count! Fighters are given up to full 10 counts to get up from a knock down, what Mora did is the mandatory 8 count where he needs to count at least 8 even if the fighter got up early (i.e. before the count of 8). If the fighter missed the 8th count, the referee still has to count up to 10 and may still allow the fighter to continue (depending on the referee's judgement). The standing 8 count rule is something the referee may invoke even without a knock down (still counts as a knock down), which I believe they don't allow in pro boxing anymore.

The count should have been paused until he was in the furthest neutral corner. It's very odd that even the broadcast didn't notice. Oh and the 10th round knock down, Wilder was given 24 secs to recover...I haven't rewatched to look at the early knockdown but I have a feeling its going to be more than 10 count or at the very least the same kind of count.

The referee may stop counting if the opponent fails to go to the neutral corner, and resume the count where he/she left off when the opponent reports to or returns to the neutral corner." That's why most boxers run to the neutral corner when they knock down their opponents. Wilder somehow forgot this or lost the presence of mind to do this. Here is the rule as written in the Association of Boxing Commissions and Combative Sports, “Regulatory Guidelines and Rules For All World and Regional Championship Bouts:” “When a knockdown occurs, the downed boxer’s opponent shall go to the furthest neutral corner and remain there while the count is being made. The referee may stop counting if the opponent fails to go to the neutral corner, and resume the count where he/she l when the opponent reports to or returns to the neutral corner.” So both Rogan and Cormier are wrong here. According to the rules above, referee Mora did nothing improper during the so-called slow count. Since Mora followed WBC rules to the letter, any suggestion that the count was intentionally slowed to influence the outcome of the bout is totally without merit. Fury was, and will remain the victor, despite what folks who haven’t read the rules might say.

@@LeoJLoera here you go ... RULE IS 10-COUNT, NOT 10 SECONDS Boxing rules require the timekeeper, after a knockdown, to immediately begin calling off the seconds, indicating the count with a motion of his arm. After ordering the other boxer to a neutral corner, the referee is to pick up the count from the timekeeper, indicating it with a motion of his arm. "Once the ref picks up the count, that's the official count," referee Mills Lane, who regularly works fights in Nevada, told the Associated Press. Speaking of referee Octavio Meyran and his controversial count in the eighth round of the Mike Tyson-Buster Douglas fight in Tokyo, Lane said: "If {Meyran} erred, you can't penalize Douglas. He looks at the ref. He has no way of knowing anything else. He depends on the ref for the call. . . . If the ref was off, how can you penalize the fighter?" When Meyran picked up the count on Douglas, he reportedly did so at "one" rather than "three" or "four," which is where the Tyson-Douglas timekeeper is said to have left off. According to the rules of the New York and New Jersey boxing commissions, a knockout is not necessarily 10 seconds, but rather a count of 10. "A 10-count is not done by a stopwatch," said Larry Hazzard, a former referee and now chairman of the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board. "That's splitting hairs. The question is, did the fighter beat the count and can he continue?"

To me if you can't get back up within 3 seconds (let's be generous), it should be called a KO. If you can't properly get up as soon as you hit the canvas, it means you got hurt. Wilder beat Fury again and the REF did long counts to save fury. The count starts when the opponent hits the canvas "Glove" or "Body".....the timekeeper starts the 10 second count....and the Ref picks up the count...which is in SECONDS....no such thing as a "Ref 10 Count"....its 10 SECOND COUNT. [NAC 467.740  Procedure for counting; knockdown; knockout; technical draw. (NRS 467.030)] 1.  When an unarmed combatant is knocked down, the referee shall order the opponent to retire to the farthest neutral corner of the ring, by pointing to the corner, and shall immediately begin the count over the unarmed combatant who is down. The referee shall audibly announce the passing of the "seconds", accompanying the count with motions of his or her arm, with the downward motion indicating the end of each "second". 2.  The timekeeper, by effective signaling, shall give the referee the correct 1-second interval for the count. The referee’s count is the official count. Once the referee picks up the count from the timekeeper, the timekeeper shall cease counting. No unarmed combatant who is knocked down may be allowed to resume competing until the referee has finished counting to eight. When Wilder went down on the 3rd round his count was 12 seconds to reach the count of 8. When Fury went down it was 14 seconds to reach the count of 8 but the count was interrupted due to Wilder not being on the neutral corner. Referee stopped the count at 5 and resumed the count to 6 only when Wilder was at the farthest neutral corner. As per Association of Boxing Commissions Unified Rules: "When a knockdown occurs, the downed boxer’s opponent shall go to the furthest neutral corner and remain there while the count is being made. Either way, the pausing of the count was due to this rule.
