If you have a Gen 1 Raptor and you dont see fuse 27 has been relocated, DO IT! Mine ended up not starting at a gas station like the fuel pump was dead. After a tow to the shop I learned of fuse 27. Relocate before it goes on you.

I've got a 2011 Gen1. Fuse 27 blew out while on an Australian Air Force Base. It ran the next morning. No Dealers knew how to fix F-150s in Australia in 2017. It wouldn't start again... My wife and I figured it out while at her horse barn, requiring a few trips to the auto store and a few "G'days." Thanks for the great video... this may be in my future!

Hey bud, appreciate you uploading this. I used it as a direct walkthrough for doing the job on my truck. You are correct about it being intimidating at first. You don't know what gambling is until you're snipping wires on the wiring harness of a truck that's running perfectly fine, while your wife is telling you should "just take it in", and "you're an idiot for trying". That startup afterwards was rewarding as fuck. I cranked the rocky themesong and ran around the yard to the horror and dismay of the wife. :) Thanks again! Mike

Doing the exact same thing to my 5.0 f 150 one stupid thing I did was break one of the metal posts the fuse box anchors to, it's really thin flimsy metal and broke very easily so be careful, used some metal tape to repair it wasn't much of a problem.

Good video if your low mileage and having problems I made it 139000 before having the fuse problem so my ? Was why did I make it so far led it back to the fuel pump Dr module sucking more power than the new one does which strained the already pushed to the limit fuse box replaced the module and a new fuse been another 80000 miles with no more problem so the truck is so old now I don't have much use for it anymore and I still never had to rewire my fuse box

So I have a question, both fuses are 20 amp so why does it not effect the other fuse? That's very confusing to me. Mine just blown yesterday and am waiting to relocate but why the small fuse blows and not the larger one.

This is the most well done relocation video available, Great Job! One of the first "mods" I did to my 2010 Raptor at 200k miles was this, believe it or not. Old fuse looked great as well but it's definitely cheap insurance!

Thanks for the video. I watched because the instructions provided referenced a connection to fuse 08-03. I assumed it was the blue/red wire you showed, and I was correct. Not criticizing, but the purpose of that heat shrink you pinch off is to ensure no accidental power is put to that circuit, if the next owner decided to pop in fuse 27. I deal with these things daily... Again, thank you nice work

I was just checking on mine, and the spot where "fuse 27" is normally located is currently empty, and the "fuse 70" has a larger 20 Amp fuse in just like the one in your kit, so I am thinking that mine was already done pre purchase. Thanks for the info and the hands on, appreciate you.

Thanks for sharing. Was very confused by the instructions which state splice the blue/red and black wires together… but show two blue/red wires being spliced. Wasted ages double, triple checking and chasing wires to be sure. 🤪😅

My truck has been intermittently doing the, cranking not starting thing. I found the #27 fuse, it was melted. I put a new one in and it worked for a day. Now the truck won't start again, same symptoms, but the fuse is fine. Any ideas???

was there any other damage maybe to the fuse box?

I appreciate this video. My 2013 cranked this morning but wouldn't start, searched online and found out about this problematic fuse #27. Replaced it with a new 20A fuse, but as with anything else, if a fuse is burning out that's always a sign of a bigger problem. My fuse relocating kit is on order and will be doing this mod in the next few days. I especially appreciate your video cutting out a couple unnecessary steps in the instructions. Thanks again.

I owe my Gen 1 Raptor buddy a dollar and a case of soda for knowing what was wrong with my FX4 6.2L. I owe you a thanks for putting together this video. My Raptor turns 11 yrs old this month and never heard of this issue. I've been an early member of just about ever Raptor forum as well. 11 yrs later and still no problem. I need to check it, maybe Ford already did this on one of its trips to the dealership over the years.
@ShiftedPerspective3 жыл бұрын
If they relocated the fuse, there should be a new fuse in the larger location and potentially a little sticker in the fuse box. If that new fuse location is empty, they haven’t done it but I would definitely recommend it.
@myroadtours61472 жыл бұрын
@@ShiftedPerspective Just now checking my fuse box, I haven't really been driving the truck much. I wore the whole front end out, so basically had it rebuilt. So now its time to address this fuse issue. No, my Fuse 27 has not been relocated. Its still in the factory location and the fuse looks good. I'm currently trying to talk to my Ford service department about having it relocated. I need to have a few other things done, so I figured I would let the pros relocate it.
