I was a supporter of the new era of 4 horseman and did all the Ric Flair strutting around and did Crippler Crossfaces on vid games and for play in real life... But dude murdered his own family, he pretty much debased himself to nothing and I'm just "beatin' on a dead horse..." PUNS! He was a part of my favorite era in "pro-wrestling," and I'll not forget him.

I am a fan of Chris Benoit, the wrestler. While I say he snapped, it is not because he was sane and decided to kill, but because he more than likely took a hard hit during his final match, and it set into motion his downfall that weekend. Benoit the man did something I'll never be able to forgive or forget, but I separate the man and the wrestler, because Benoit the Wrestler, was a fucking beast, and deserved a lot more than he received in his career. Another thing that attributed to his downfall could've been his not getting help once Eddie died. When Eddie died, I really do believe Benoit broke down, and was never the same again.

Just one inaccuracy I want to point out. Chris Benoit was not from Montreal. He was born there, but did not live there. He lived in Atlanta, Georgia from about 2003 until his death. Before that, he was from Canada, but from Edmonton, Alberta. If you're gonna say he is a Canadian wrestler, then say he's from Alberta. If nothing else, say he's from Calgary.

Otherwise, despite their braggadocio, I feel ICP really were hurt by the Benoit tragedy (as was I) and wanted to speak in their music about losing yourself in a confused, dysfunctional mind, with Benoit as an oblique example. I really do feel they respected him before; I can't say for certain about now, after the act and the fact, but they had the guts to address his state of mind in this song, when others wanted to erase him from history, which is just unfair and dishonest. His story should stand as it is, public wrestling triumph and brain-damaged personal despair, to teach us.

I do think its funny how a bunch of people are pissed off about this song. If you're mad because you think they are profiting off of this tragedy then you are a hypocrite... People profit off of tragedy every day... What about the news organizations who reported this story for days and days... Are they NOT profiting off of this tragedy? What about the authors who will undoubtedly write books about this case, retelling every detail, analyzing and speculating. Are they not profiting? What about the other murderers who people profit from? How about Charles Manson? Why isn't anybody over on Marilyn Manson"s page bitching that he's profiting off of tragedy? How about Bundy, Dahmer and Gacy, etc? I'm sure they all still have family alive that cringe every time they hear a story, or see a movie or book written about those murders. People use metaphors in music all the time... Rappers compare themselves to gangsters who murdered people, and those rappers are profiting from that... Shit happens everyday... If you want to bitch about ICP doing it, then you should bitch about everybody else also...
