I'd say the benefits about morning pages are once you let the creativity flow first thing in the morning, you don't judge yourself and you appreciate anything that comes to mind and for the rest of the day (at least for me), you become way more creative and judgment-free of your work so because you aren't blocked you can just keep churning out content through whatever your creative outlet is.

I get what you're saying but I think that what he's tried to say, however clumsily, was that coming from a world always divided with him being half; him in different classes than his friends bck in school; in him listening to different types of music, is that he sort of understand the concept of two different worlds. Good and evil/sins and everything beyond that.
