I always enjoy your videos, that was a fun experiment to watch as well! I love your colors and the "spray paint" type design you made with the colors. Those would be cool slumped into little bowls. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you! Yes I’m going to shape them probably into candleholders cause the light will have a cool refraction with the strips and a candle in it!

Both are great and I agree that the one with the frit on bottom is best. I would have never thought about putting frit underneath the glass. It might be cool to see what it would look like if you put frit on both the top and bottom. Maybe using complementary colors instead of the same colors?

Yes that would be cool on both sides and then the clear would give it depth

Hi , I've only just "discovered your channel & I'm hooked !! So generous to show & explain all these different techniques. I'm a potter for many many years, & a while ago I attended a one day glass fusing workshop, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I've bought a couple of books on the subject but find some of the explanations "as clear as mud"... Anyway I have a question which I've asked previously on a couple of other "glass fusing" groups, & never received a proper answer Can I crush up some coloured glass bottles ( as in your video) & use that in between ( or under ) layers of plain 3mm window glass ?? thanks in advance, Annie

Glad it’s helpful! In terms of using window glass and bottle glass, they are not tested compatible meaning they may not fuse together. Bottle glass can usually be fused with itself but nothing else. This is because fused glass is tested compatible meaning it expands and contracts at the same rate when heated. Otherwise it will crack.

Very nice. I often do fine frit under the glass n take it to tack or contour to get a sugarplum look. But the on edge n power frit combo is v interesting. Tu

Loved the video. I prefer the frit down as well. Did you try this with the frit design and just plain tecta sheets on top instead of the strips (that I would need to cut)

I have not tried that, but definitely would work too. Not sure how well the frit would stick under the glass with a solid piece. The strips allow for more air flow and heat to reach underneath.
