Great to learn from you. Do have trouble to understand what you do when pressing shortcuts without telling exactly what you do. Also would be nice to explain why/when use sketches or planes.

Hi thanks for getting in touch. I’ll definitely keep that in mind for future videos.

thanks again , question why do you keep selectin projection ? after selecting construction plane

Hi, I select project so that I will have reference geometry for drawing the line that I will use for the rib
@beardedgaming13378 ай бұрын
so other vids ive watched have hammered hard on "not using discrete constraints when ever possible". would it be advisable in your design here to project a midpoint plane for the rib instead of a distance off the side face? also the holes, would it be better to create one and then mirror it over to the other side? if this sketch is scaled or changed what happens to all the holes/ribs/changes that are constrained with exact measurements instead of relations?

You are 100% correct. If you anticipate a model being scaled you will need to make is “scale proof”. The idea with this tutorial is letting a beginner start modeling without being too strict on the dos and don’ts. I found just having some fun with the drawing you learn a lot quicker. But if you are going into an engineering environment it is essential to learn best practice.

@@Fusionfundamentalskool, thanks for hte reply. im very new to this (last week or so). im building a CNC and just got 3d printers. complex mounting brackets are mostly what im after so im trying to find tutorials for those. stuff like 110 degree angle changes, mounting flanges, gussets, offset supports, holes for hardware, and wrapping around real life objects. i find i need this kind of stuff quite often and id like to learn the design side. up till now its been plasma cutting and tig welding on the fly to make stuff.

@beardedgaming3741 that sounds awesome. If you need a hand with any of the designs I’ll happily help. I’m always looking for a project. You can email me at fusionfundamentals@gmail.com

@@Fusionfundamentals sure, I'll send you an email in a bit just to touch base. I'm currently working on a project for a radiator mount on my computer

@@Fusionfundamentalsafter 8 hours of trying. its compound angles. thats what im stuck on. do you have vids on how to calculate and build off cascading compound angles?

Great , but way you not use MIRROR ?

There are always many ways to achieve the same result. It’s always up to the designer which path they want to take. The destination is still the same 😉
