Make sure to add all your features in the component you work on

I am an incredibly inexperienced designer, just started. I am though a very experienced software engineer with 15+ years of experience. As soon as I learned about the basics of this program, I instantly wanted to learn about staying organized based on my own expertise. In my work, if you don't do this, your codebase and your commit history becomes spaghetti. It is obvious the same pattern applies here, if not more! I cannot imagine how fast things can get out of control within a collaborative team environment. Your video is so underappreciated. This is possibly the most important aspect of learning how to use the tool. Thank you!

Thank you very much!! Your explanation is completely clear and short. I've finally understand how to correctly organise Fusion Projects 😊

Very clear, concise, and helpful. I've watched several longer, more detailed videos on the topic; however, this basic principle of organization was lost in the complexity. Glad to find just the answers I was looking for here. Thank you!

Hello! Thank you very much for your video. Sometimes I need to reorganize my browser tree. Is it possible to move subcomponents or bodies from subcomponents to level up? Or move one subcomponent to another component? Drag and drop is not working.

agree 100% its a very clean way to organize large assemblies.

Your components have a colored bar to the left of them (orange, fusia, cyan, etc), and there are corresponding colors in the timeline of the top level assembly. I don't see that in my Fusion 360. Is that a setting that you enabled?

Yes this is a setting. I don't remember where it is. Try right click somewhere

@@PRO3DESIGN I found it. The little gear icon in the lower right corner. The option is called 'component color swatch'

- thx for showing how NOT to do it, AND WHY not. - Good "structure" (components, sketches, etc.) is critical to a good model (easy to edit, easy to understand, compute optimally, etc.). - along these lines, and for your viewers, allow me to share this... - Here is some insights into modeling, and my suggestion (at least it works for me)... MY DESIGN/MODELING APPROACH: --- What are the critical aspects? --- What should drive what? --- What are the basic geometric forms? --- *** What are the components, and their hierarchical relations? *** --- What params are required? - Only then should things be done in F360 - and first, only component tree, and params... then finally, start sketching, and adding features/joints/etc. - This way, a good underlying structure is more likely - as opposed to figuring out things on the fly. - The main point: think before you do... the workflow and result will be much better. - I realize some of this may be unfamiliar to users at an early stage, but assure they will help you move along in a good way, and is worth the effort.
