Hi Lars. I have been learning Fusion 360 over the past couple of weeks and practicing on a few of my own projects. I have watched your videos almost exclusively because I find they cover almost everything I have needed an explanation for. I really enjoy all of your videos and find them extremely helpful in my learning. Please keep them coming.

Hi Lars, Thank you for all your tutorials they are so helpful. I am trying to loft a hexagonal shape and I want to create symmetrical guide rails on each corner. How can I copy one rail and duplicate it around a vertical centreline without making multiple planes and copying, pasting and orientating the guides on each plane. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Regards John Boyd

Lars, I drive for a living. I've got an aux cable I run from my phone to the car's stereo. I gave giving your videos a listen without the video just to see if I could make sense out of them. - turns out it works. I'd already watched the videos so I had a decent idea. The one advantage to simply listening to the commentary is it seems to force me to simply think conceptually, focus on the process and not get mired in the details. Playing a video in the background while working on Fusion itself, it's just white noise. So- it is great that your videos are put together in a way they can be simply listened to and a person can come away with the structure behind the concept. I believe that is important. Thanks -R

Gidday Lars love the videos as usual. When I'm sketching the ellipses sometimes I get purple dots out the side and on the next plane I do not, I see you get purple dots up the sides of yours on each plane that you have an ellipse on. When I go to Loft the ones that have purple dots, it requires me to select both halves of the ellipse and the ellipses without purple dots have the whole ellipse selected in one go? Have you got auto project on or something? :)

Hi buddwieser Thank you for watching! I am not hundred percent sure, but it sounds to me that you might have intersecting geometry? Like a line that is splitting the eclipse? Personally I would not worry too much about it, if you have to select the two halves and everything still works. Best, Lars

OK an nice expample of using splines BUT I was interested in how to dimension the slpine curves in the Sketch mode so it can be defined enough so the line turns black and the .dxf file can be sent to be machined... I'm new at this... I seen when you Sketch that you need to dimension the drawing sufficiently to turn the lines black so it is described enough to be machined... seeing as Splines are so organic in shape I want to know if and how you need to specify the diameters etc. for machining... I hope I made sense now??

Hi Paul Hitchman Thank you for watching! You can absolutely apply constraints and dimensions to the spline so it is locked down. Normally, I will just right-click the spline and select "lock" as I normally are not driving any other dimensions from a spline. But, you can apply a horizontal and vertical constraint to the spline handle, add dimensions for the length of the spline handles and for the control points. Hope you have an awesome day! Best, Lars

I tried the loft using a profile that I want to be hollow. I select the wall section from the top and the bottom, but when the loft is created it fills in the whole area and does not create the wall/shell. I know I can create another loft using the center and then do a cut, but why does it not create a loft with a hollow inside? Another way I could fix it is to use the shell command, but this seems like excess when it should be a simple loft with an inside and outside boundaries.

Hi Deputy Dawg Thank you for watching! That could be an idea to share on the Autodesk Fusion Idea station. I would do the loft and then the shell. Hope you have an awesome day! Best, Lars

Hi, Lars. Thank you for your time. I don't understand what you mean. Can you explain in some more details? Here's what I'm trying to do. I have a circle extruded to 100mm. and I want to cut out a circle inside ,but it has to follow the shape of a spline from top to bottom. I managed today doing it with the revolve function, but I really want to also doing it with the loft with rails function. I need to get the rails in the XY and YZ plane identical to achieve the same shape all around. If I follow your video I will get identical in for example the XY plane, but how to get the same rail shape to the YZ plane?
