When looking for a particular component in the Browser If you right click on it in the work space then scroll down to "Find in Browser" this will find and open the component folder you are looking for. You may have to change your "Selection Filters" to "Bodies". Hope this helps.
@ScottMoyse
@ScottMoyse 8 жыл бұрын
+Ed T You don't have to change your selection filters... you only have to double click on the component. The only catch is if you double click on a component that is inside another component, then it selects the parent (the assembly its in). Then you can select Find in Browser from there.

Scott Moyse Thank you that's good to know, I have been setting the "selection Filter" to bodies only, this will save some clicks and movement of the cursor.

Everytime I safe a DXF file like that, and I insert it later the lines on the sketch are messed up. Like the sketch isn't the same I have to fix it up.

Double click on a component to select, right click to get menu you can Activate at the top of the list and/or isolate (right above find in browser)

Another great informative video. Autodesk should pay you. I'm coming across from Solidworks to Fusion because I'm fed up handing money to solidworks and every now and then I think, oh this would be so much easier in solidworks then you show how to do it in fusion the easy way, bingo. keep up the good work

If you create a new sketch and copy and paste everything from the other sketches into it then you should end up with one sketch that has everything you need, and the positions of the parts shouldn't change as long as you don't change them after pasting them in. I really wish there was just a combine option, but at least there's a way to do what you want even if it's slow and tedious.

Ok... I made the DXF. BUT, how do I get Inskscape to: 1.) Keep it in inches? 2.) Import proper scale?
@RevampedOutdoors
@RevampedOutdoors 5 жыл бұрын
Have you figured out a good way of doing this? This is driving me nuts currently, I export the sketch but it's too large when imported into cutting software. Apart from resizing in the cutting software I'm not sure how else to do it, frustrating for sure if the cutting software isn't really precise though.

Also wondering about the scale. I've sent out .dxf files to a couple companies and they've both called back wondering what scale I'm drawing in. But if I upload to any online cutting service, it always scales it correctly. I've found you can save a drawing as a .dxf with dimensions, but whenever I open it back up, it's all fubar with sketches floating around in 3 dimensions.

hi john, the video is great i as i knew it would be lol, i have found that if you right click on a component at you bottom there is an option to "find in browser " this makes searching a lot easier, the next one i am working on is making a bolt and v groove bearing move together when joined any ideas ??, i have sent you a fusion 360 file for an arm tool changer i am working on , when its done and finished i think it will me very cool, keep up the good work and many thanks for this fusion Friday, thanks Daniel

Mate unless you now know, to find anything in the left panel you simply right click and select find in browser. Personally I think there should be a short cut key and in browser it should highlight much more than a silly squiggly line. Really hard to see.

Speaking of TONS of components, what about a video on organizing all of those; or isn't there a good way yet? I think in Inventor you could make folders (I haven't used it in a while). Right now I'm making sub-assemblies but it's a massive PITA that you can't make changes to parts in the main project and have them propagate back into the original parts. You saw my CNC project before and it's only getting more complicated and harder to navigate!

+Chris DePrisco I agree it would be very helpful to see a video on how to organize the browser!!! Mine tends to get very disorganzed.
@tomdchi12
@tomdchi12 8 жыл бұрын
+Chris DePrisco "allsortsofinterests" and "Ed T" below commented on the right click --> "Find in browser" to go from the model back to the "browser." As I do more complex projects in Fusion 360, I'm getting more and more aggravated at the "browser" and the total lack of means for organizing it. I haven't tried in a while, but last time I did, I couldn't even drag components up or down to at least group them informally. Folders, "sub-assemblies" and the like would help a lot. Scrolling through a long, unorganizable list of component model numbers is tough and wastes time. I'll bug the Fusion guy next week at the Chicago user group.
