You can copy and paste directly from sketches with the most recent update. Even across separate designs.

yeah, but it's still a good idea to know how to import/ export dxfs

Thank you for this!! Doing a double loft to get rid of center core was the best tip ever..!! I spent half an hour trying different splines thinking its my mistake until i gave up and found your tip..
@DmitryZaprudnov7 жыл бұрын
You can try to use double click when selecting profile, and then click on "offset" it's more quickest way than selecting every single line. Thanx for the video!

Thanks for the video! I was trying to figure out hollow loft

Any update on why the loft is like that? I was trying to create a custom 2" PVC 90 degree elbow because I needed it to fit into a tighter space than a normal 90 would. I went from a 2 inch circle to a rectangle and then back again and have the same issues with it lofting the whole center area. Another way to fix that was to use the shell command after the loft, but it would be great it fusion only lofted the profile you selected. Is this something we can bring up to the autodesk team?

Learned a lot from the short vid! I have also had that problem that you had while lofting. Not sure of the fix.

Do you have a video demonstrating how to draw features on the inside of the loft? Like support structures/cross braces?
@franksalterego7 жыл бұрын
That's a fine solution, if you want the profile to remain parallel at both ends... What would you do if you want the profile to rotate around the center of the arc?.. Like putting a bend in a conic section.
@ChrisCanMakeStuff7 жыл бұрын
I can think of some "hacky" ways. E.g. do what John did, but on the arc sketch add a line from the center of the arc through a point on the rear side of the profile. The do the loft, then do and extrude and use the line on the arc sketch to do a cut. There must be a way of rotating the profiles sketch plane though.

You can rotate the sketch. First create a construction plane at the angle/position you require, then paste a copy of the sketch (or recreate it) on that plane.

john don't bother with doing save as .dxf copy paste does work most times now, if it does not paste straight into the sketch, you try pasting on the origin point or on a sketch point and sometimes the copy does total fail and you just have to copy again

would really like to see that made on the 440 if it can be done maybe a shorter one ??? just because the holding jig should make a nice w/w :)

Hello John I've got a lot to learn, what's the shortcut u used to measure....u didn't go to the taskbar...BTW the new copy and paste is great
@imbored7427 жыл бұрын
Richard Nix the i key is the default shortcut for measuring, d is the default for dimensioning

I use the d shortcut somehow I didn't pick up on the i ... it will save me a bunch of time Thanks

About the problem with lofting... it's because you chose the whole profile no? I've seen the advantage of loft in patch environment and it's way more forgiving, you'd only have to thicken the loft, great video !!

The first three minutes are about sketch housekeeping. Is it related to tapered lofting in any way? I think not.
@m342754 жыл бұрын
I think you can use sweep now instead

Offset command has a keyboard shortcut: "O" so you don't need to press "S" and then Off to find it.

What would happen with more complicated figures? Lets say like the shape of a dinosaur, when you have the figure that has a lot more points/vertex in it...

OT --Why the need for a .010 taper in that direction? How would you make this piece? split it? Cast it with a core? If you were going to cast it, it would need draft, but not in the direction the .010 taper was added. Wall thickness is too thin for a "conventional" casting... lost wax could work? For a test piece I think I would split it, machine the two halves, bond together Sorry ..... just curious why the .010 taper in that direction.

I enjoy these tutorials, but my ability to go through and find videos related to my projects are limited. Does anyone know of an online course that will go through 360 or any other cad software from top to bottom?

Hollow Loft: Make sure the shape is closed and then select the enclosed profile of the shape. Loft that. Hope this helps.
@scientist1004 жыл бұрын
Even if you select only the face you want to loft, it won't do just that face, it selects the entire face that is also inside of it lol.
