Fusion 360 Tutorial Ratchet Gear - Exercise 213

A ratchet gear is a type of gear mechanism that allows motion in one direction only. It typically consists of a gear with teeth that are angled in such a way that they engage with a pawl or a similar device. The pawl prevents the gear from rotating backward, allowing it to turn only in one direction.
The ratchet mechanism is commonly used in various tools and devices where unidirectional motion is desired, such as in socket wrenches, hand drills, and winches. When the gear is turned in the designated direction, the pawl allows the teeth to slide over it smoothly, enabling the rotation. However, if an attempt is made to turn the gear in the opposite direction, the pawl catches on the teeth, preventing backward motion.
Ratchet gears are practical for applications where precise control over movement and the prevention of reverse motion are important.
