Fusion Friday - Making Hems in Sheet Metal

Brad good video! Couldn't you create a new sheetmetal rule with all of the settings rather than going back to the 3 dots each time?

@ScottDube1- This is a great idea. It would help with the Bend Radius setting and the Seam Gap setting. However, you would still have to enter in the bend angle and you would have to verify the thickness of the material. For example, if I created a rule called "Hem" and the material thickness was set to 0.1in and then I applied that rule to my 0.25 thick sheet metal part, it would change the thickness to 0.1. However, if all your material was the same thickness, your idea would definitely speed up the design process. I'm going to pin your comment since I think it's a good idea. Thanks for sharing!

Great tip Brad. I use that style of command all the time but I just did a 90 degree fold and tell the guys to fold it right back. Now I can actually show it as a safety edge! Brilliant 👍

Brad, I have been building stainless steel battery boxes for light aircraft for several years with .032 stainless sheet using this fold over bend to strengthen and eliminate the supper sharp edge. I have tried to use fusion to design them but have never figured out how to do exactly what you just showed in this 7.5 minute video. Thank you so much and I am heading to Fusion to get started.

I cant see why fusion 360 cant implement hem function as inventor has. Must be a requested feature now for at least 8 years?
