Stumbled on this just now from an old Fusion forum, and I'm absolutely stunned at how this works, and how well you showed it (and how damned fast your computer was able to process it!!) It looks like this channel has gone silent, but I'm going to learn as much as I can from it!!

@statixvfx1793 so I use Fusion within the Davinci Resolve editor - looks like all the nodes you referenced here are there as well. Is it still possible to use Fusion outside of resolve?
@statixvfx17937 ай бұрын
@@TabletopToolbox Yes it is, and its the preferred way for a lot of things. Especially CPU and RAM usage. Fusion Standalone is much less hungry than in Resolve. Granted, there's a few nodes thats only available in ResolveFusion, like surfacetracker and reduce noise.

😍 Thanks for sharing this. It is brilliant. You may use this as base for so many other things like flames, tissues in the wind (flags), etc. etc...
@statixvfx17935 жыл бұрын
Thanks, there's a lot of potential when you start to imagine data as being agnostic of the domain. Here we're representing geometry as pixels, but you can go crazy and start representing geometry as sound etc. By storing the position data as an image its also fairly trivial to implement things like basic spring (cloth) constrains, so you're spot on that you can use it for things like flags :)

Brilliant video, many thanks. Feeling stupid as I cannot add expressions to each of the RG and B channels in the gradient tool - and even when I apply an expression to one of the colors, it applies this to both of the gradient‘s colors. In Resolve 16 - am I doing something wrong?
@WCPR4 жыл бұрын
Same issue here. Resolve/Fusion has changed since the video was made. Hopefully statix vfx came make an update.
@8bitmagic4 жыл бұрын
@Sean Keogh @@WCPR I have figured it out from some research. If you were doing what I was doing, I was making my background type a "gradient" then setting the gradient to be vertical... when what you want to do is make the background type "vertical." Once you've done that you'll have the two sets of colors with the ability to add expressions to r g and b separately.

Your videos are fantastic. Thanks for sharing your mad skills. One thing... at 6.33 you bring up an 'add' node. I can't see one in my Fusion9, is it an add-on? [There is also an 'adjustBbox' an 'axis' and a 'backdrop' showing on your list which I also don't see on my list]. Very few Fusion tutes of this quality and clarity out there. Respect.
@statixvfx17936 жыл бұрын
Cheers man, appreciate the feedback. The "add" node is just a ChannelBoolean set to Add mode and I've then saved it as a macro/preset. Its super easy to save your own presets, but this one is also part of my nuke2fusion macro collection github.com/statixVFX/nuke2fusion

Now just need a method of branching in non-studio maybe pinning multiple strips together, scripting vertex's,tracking or using probes?
@statixvfx17936 жыл бұрын
The answer is already in the video, base the branches off the positions of the main geometry, and use the Replicator3D to copy variants back on to it self.
