Easily the best romance in the game. Futaba's romance ties to her growth as a character in such a way that you do not see with most of the other romance options. She goes out on her own to Akihabara without him to prove that she's reached a point where she can go about her life without him instead of being taken there to start like in the platonic version. From a narrative standpoint, it felt natural to me that her reward for reaching a point where she can go about her life without Ren/Joker was being given the right to be with him. I was straight up cheering for her during rank 10. Her being with him also enables her to gain these new experiences that she was never able to have because of everything that happened to her, further showcasing the growth she was able to achieve in the confidant. Ren/Joker would be with the girl that has been looking out for him since the very beginning with how she'd call Sojiro when he's giving Ren a hard time while she's listening in on LeBlanc and given a means to become a permanent member of the Sakura family if he stays with her from then on, which Futaba seems to think will happen in her final goodbye. I think that's the best thing that could possibly happen to him. She deserves to be with him the most out of all the characters and he's best off with her.

Honestly this is my favorite romance in the game cause these two have the most believable and natural chemistry out of all of them. I mean even before the romance Futaba is around the protagonist as a safety blanket and they even have many scenes where they bond together without raising the confidant level. I didn't play Persona 5 when it was first released back in 2017 I waited for P5R to be released later so I finally picked up my copy and I sat down and start playing it for days on end finally finished the game. This is one of the best games ever made!! I can't put into words humanly just how astonishing this game is ranging from voice acting, characters design, music etc, everything! It's a 10/10 for me. Ironically persona 5 stole my heart in more ways than I can describe. But what really got me in such an emotional state Futaba. After being introduced to her and learning her story, what happened to her mother and all the emotional and mental trauma that she suffered from hit me so deep that I cried for quite a while. Out of every character I fell in love with Futaba because she reminded me soo much of the little sister I had during my childhood. Even though we weren't blood-related she was an only child and I didn't have a biological sister so she became my little sister and ironically she was two years younger than me to. But sadly and callously she was murdered.... completely had her future rip from her... that's why Futaba hit me to my core being. I love Futaba in both a sibling perspective and a romantic perspective, she's overall just a wholesome character/person. This world should have more Futaba's, I know out here in this cold gray World there are some from covers somewhere in the corners. Persona 5 is that one game I will never forget it was such a pleasure are experiencing the story of the infamous Phantom Thieves. They will live on forever in my heart. It's a little funny. I gravitated to Futaba immediately out of everyone for obvious reasons. She was by far the most relatable one there for me. Makoto is cool, but honestly, she seems a little... plain? Like I really don't see why she's as popular as she is. But then when I actually started on the romance route with Futaba, it felt a little awkward, because of the family dynamic and sibling vibes that they give off sometimes. At the same time, they seem cute together, and seeing Futaba's anxieties and cringing at herself makes me laugh because it reminds me of my awkward moments too. So I dunno, I think it can go either way. Funny that my favourite two girls in the game are Futaba and Kawakami, and they're arguably the two most controversial choices.

Wait, how do you hang out with her on Christmas' Eve? I just finished the true ending (missed out on third semester unfortunately) but when I answered her text the game just went straight to Leblanc with Futaba complaining about not finding anything to eat. Any reasons why this happened? Valentine's Day was different, too. She said COMPLETELY different things and was wearing her usual Fall/Winter outfit. Edit: nevermind I found out, it was different because I didn't unlock the third semester.

They’re 1 year apart. My wife and i are nearly 5 years apart and going on 12 years with baby 2 coming this winter so I don’t get the hate. She did grate on me for being very much a “please fix me” Type but considering the trauma and her real progress she gets a pass. I prefer Makoto but they’re all better than Haru I will die on that hill.

To be honest I could never romance her because whilst I am aware Sojiro is not your actual dad and Sojiro is not futabas actual dad, it would still fell like I was dating my stepsister which is just so weird. I think she fits much better into a sibling relationship than a romantic one.

To be fair, it all depends on how you play. They keep her relationship with Joker very ambiguous in the beginning, so depending on your choices, the relationship can feel very different as opposed to the other characters.
