Futura 2000 y Fasim, Barcelona 1990 / Urban Art / Graffiti / Arcs & Cracs / Eva Sastre / TV-1

In 1990, Futura 2000 arrived in Barcelona to hold what would be one of the first urban art exhibitions in Barcelona (at the now defunct Arcs & Cracs gallery by Eva Sastre).
The exhibition was a total failure, the city of Barcelona was not prepared to understand an art that was just beginning its expansion in Europe and the rest of the world, and very few people came to the opening, very little press echoed the news and no paintings were sold.
Barcelona did not know yet what 'urban art' was, in those days, we were the most cosmopolitan citizens of the city, the only ones who accompanied the master, a small group of children (all writers), because we found out from the press, among them Biz (Juanma, Hask) who even helped him to finish a big mural he made near the gallery, mural that can be seen in the video.
The day the mural was finished, he gave us many boxes of paint that he had left over and that he could not take with him, so he gave them to us very gently and we shared them out right there, in front of his incredulous marchand who asked him; who are these children? to which Futura replied with a phrase that years later I would be really proud of: Barcelona Posse.
In the video you can see two murals of mine from that time, a piece by Fasim (older) and the mural I did with part of that painting, in the second stage of the wall.
I know that if Futura reads this post, he will remember these days very well, such was the affection that we professed to each other, something very usual in him, from here my humble thanks to this very generous artist, who brought us the seed of a culture of which we were already natural heirs for some years.

En 1990, Futura 2000 llegó a Barcelona para realizar, la que sería una de las primeras exposiciones de arte urbano en Barcelona (en la hoy desaparecida galería Arcs & Cracs de Eva Sastre).
La exposición fue un fracaso absoluto, la ciudad de Barcelona no estaba preparada para comprender un arte que justo comenzaba su expansión por Europa y por el resto del mundo, y vinieron muy pocas personas a la inauguración, muy poca prensa se hizo eco de la noticia y no se vendió ninguna pintura. Barcelona no sabía aún que era el 'arte urbano', en esos días, fuimos los ciudadanos más cosmopolitas de la ciudad, los únicos en acompañar al maestro, un reducido grupo de niños (todos escritores), porque nos enteramos por la prensa, entre ellos Biz (Juanma, Hask.) que le ayudó incluso a acabar un gran mural que realizó cerca de la galería, mural que puede verse en el vídeo.
El día que acabó el mural nos regaló muchas cajas de pintura que le habían sobrado y que no podía llevarse, por lo que nos las regaló muy gentilmente y nos repartimos allí mismo, delante de su incrédulo marchand que le preguntaba; quién son estos niños?, a lo que Futura le respondió una frase, de la que años después yo estaría realmente orgulloso: Barcelona Posse.
Sé que si Futura lee este post, se acordará muy bien de estos días que relato, tal fue el afecto que nos profesamos, algo muy usual en el, desde aquí mi humilde agradecimiento a este artista tan generoso, que nos aportó el germen de una cultura de la cual éramos ya herederos naturales desde hacía unos años.
