I think the moral (if there is one) is that this man didn't care about people; he only cared about reading. He didn't care one bit if everyone in the world around him died. He only cared about reading stories. Of course, there's a logical fallacy in that, because it took people to write the stories he loved. So how could he love reading stories about people, and not care about people at all?? You have just entered....The Plothole Zone.....

I always found this Twilight Zone episode very amusing. Funny how his wife sees book reading as a waste of time, today people see you reading a book all the time, chances are they'll see you as a genius. Both exaggerations are obviously untrue but it's very funny how opinion changes, how as the years roll on there's always gonna be that one thing that's seen as nonsense. Take today for example, video games are seen as nonsense, but video games can be just as beneficial and recreational book reading. But if there's one thing you learn from this episode in particular, too much of anything, can be very detrimental.

But in just a moment, Mr. Bemis will enter a world without bank presidents or wives or clocks or anything else. He'll have a world all to himself...without anyone. ” After the video: The best-laid plans of mice and men - and Henry Bemis, the small man in the glasses who wanted nothing but time. I enjoy living in a time that sees the waste in religious persecution, let 'em think what they want. Also it is cool that mostly religion is a pacifier for those who don't know what to do with their fear of the end of their human life. I am not religious, I sometimes fear death, there is nothing to mitigate. The thrill is in the puzzling out of the things life presents and the contemplation of how I will end. How one dies is at least as important as how one lives.
