so "Harold Zoid" is a direct reference to silent film star Harold Lloyd; who also had trouble adapting to regular films.

he's also the inspiration for superman's clark kent disguise.

It makes sense. You didn't really need to know how to act, per se, to be successful in a silent film. So I imagine a number of actors had at least some difficulty adapting when suddenly, their verbal acting abilities actually mattered.

Zoidberg’s species are pretty much a mix of various sea life. They even turn into different types of fish as they grow up.

I think they're making a reference to Rocky 2 where Rocky tries to do commercials to make money and have to dress like a caveman. Might be a joke about his slurred voice as well.

I thought of demolition man because the future's police chief kept calling him caveman.

Any excuse to hear Zoidberg say “hooray” or cry

LOL I'm a very big fan of the show I can't wait for the new episodes to come out.. the Futurama creators had to create two different alien languages because the fans keep deciphering them 😂

I think the issue with this episode is that it's 90% focused on a mean old man we've never met ,who isn't funny, and treats Zoidberg like crap the whole time.

I don't really care for this episode, but it's still okay. Edit: I forgot about the tar pit. That was awesome!

This episode has the distinction of being the only one in the original run that I don't like that much. Not even really sure why. Still has some funny jokes in it. "Super collider? I just met her! And then they built the super collider." And you have to say it in the robot voice.

While I personally don't think Futurama has any 'bad' episodes during its original seasons, the lack of sci-f elements in this episode do make it a bit forgettable despite some great jokes...

don't like zoidberg but in the mornings while brushing my teeth, that line "come, give your uncle a nice big meal" enters my head.
