I hope they remaster this game one day. It has a small and dedicated fanbase, but it definitely has potential to revive the genre considering how well this game has aged.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I don't actually think this game even *_needs_* a Remastered at all! For an "outdated" game, the graphics and aesthetic of Kane's Wrath have aged quite well and still hold up really well even to this day! At least, in my opinion. I think the games that could use an update in the form of a Remastered would be Tib Sun, Red Alert 2 and Generals/Zero Hours. THOSE games are the ones in _need_ of a revitalization. *Unfortunatelly, like Sybert said, it is guaranteed that EA won't do that.*

@@MrDibara I was thinking a remaster in the way of having official dedicated servers while still letting fans provide support (similar to how Firaxis supported the XCOM: Long War mod creators). The graphics have definitely stood the test of time and aged well, that I can't disagree on. Also, being optimized for modern operating systems is always welcomed. C&C games generally don't work well on newer operating systems without fanmade patches.

That flametank build in the last game is honestly brilliant. You only get one which you'd think won't be enough to do much, but then you spend the rest of the money/time others spend on a second flametank and instead go bikes to support it. The opponent will be stuck with a hard choice; deal with the tank using early scouts (pitbull, seeker...etc) or deal with the bike escort. With the first you'd destroy the tank but lose your scouts and risk cascading into harvester kills. The second you'd risk critical building damage like what we saw. Super fun to watch.

Definitely. It was a perfect adjustment for him to make in that game, especially since there were earlier flame rushes that were different.

51:46 actually, I managed several times to make AI player to believe that several Venoms are actually a big army, so it used superweapon on them. I am not totally sure, was it a fluke or not, but, I guess, it should work.

That's crazy. I think the AI is programmed to use the super weapon on the highest value enemy area on the map, but if the venom generator works then it would kind of short circuit that behavior.

Nod vs Scrin is actually the 2nd most challenging matchup right now in Kane's wrath, excluding sub factions vs factions (Traveller vs Reaper). Nod Lasers vs scrin is almost impossible to beat if no early damage or tech snipes are done in the pro games.

I have been going through the results of a number of matches for some time now based on factions. GDI factions have been performing very poorly in top level games. Its very obvious in 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4, less so in 1v1. Granted, my sample size is pathetically small and lacks any controls on changes in player quality, game balance changes, importance of games, player fatigue in non one-off matches etc. But given the absence of large amount raw data- like the one that is available for AoE2- its difficult to run a proper statistical analysis. In any event, there is definitely an underlying trend based on eye test. In 2v2 3v3 and 4v4 matches, I have run a simple hypothesis multiple times- the probability of winning is negatively correlated to the number of GDI factions on the team. I give a weight of 1 to GDI and 1.25 to ST. The team with higher GDI coefficient, so to speak, tends to struggle. Look, I will be the first to admit that I cant claim statistical significance based on a tiny sample size, but with what I have got, it certainly looks like it. I made a comment in this video for the first time on this subject, because the phenomenon was so clear here in a 1v1. Both the players went on runs of back to back victories, but those ended the moment they shifted to GDI. GDI factions lost all the games. And in majority of the losses, they had the better eco. This is theme which is recurring quite frequently. Since you cover this game much more extensively (and brilliantly so! thanks for the videos btw- love them!) just keep this point in the back of your mind while casting. Especially in 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 games. May be I am wrong, but I think there is an underlying pattern. @@OneSybert

No, it's not that you're necessarily wrong, indeed you may be right, but you're only right on the current patch of the game. From my perspective GDI has been a dominant faction (not necessarily always #1, but always in the top 3) both in player choice and in win rate. This is going back 15 years to the release of KW. However in the last 1-2 years the community patch has been making the other factions more viable and possibly has over-corrected, resulting in a weaker GDI. It may be that your fresh eyes are able to see a pattern emerging that doesn't seem significant to me because I have 15 years of bias watching GDI win. For example East vs West from last year which was a very entertaining event, but saw very little variety in factions. Spoiler gap (though if you're even reading this part before finishing the video you are youtubing wrong) That third game was one of the most one sided things i've ever seen. It was actually lore accurate traveler just ripping apart a gdi taskforce from all sides instantly. Sad he wasn't able to carry that momentum all the way to the end, but good job for futurama not letting such a defeat break him.
