Problem with lots of modern cars is that they're so laden with features, there's so much complexity and so much that can break, and on a car you want to mod out and make a project car, it's just not really viable financially (unless you're able and willing to pour substantial amounts of money into this). I have a few things to bring into discussion. First because it is a quick point, the Ford Maverick is just the modern Ford Courier. Which I have modded a few, and am so excited about (hope chevy brings back the LUV). Next, I have been a fan of some Hyundai models for about a decade now. The Elantra GT has been chasing Saab’s and GTI’s for 20 years. I clearly remember Donut doing full episodes on the Veloster N, and currently the small growing underground tuning scene is KDM, not a lot of aftermarket support, so those that are moding their Korean cars are doing so in the most traditional way, making things work. You cannot go o a single website and order everything to completely transform your stock JDM to a 1000hp drift missile. Maybe Donut should do a Money Pit, or something on building out something Korean or at least non-traditional. Without JZ or LS swapping, since those are so saturated in the scene (car scene and KZbin).

I also don't like this one, if it was more like the one that Ken Block drifted, I think I will be fine. It has a manual and sound (you may not like them, but they could maybe change it). Acceleration of the electric car also will make it more more fun. Mine only problem if the lack of tuning options. However, if batteries like K-ion (cheep, have higher voltage, can storage a lot of energy and can use it all, and have long lifespan, if you treat them right, but it should always be cooled down) or li-air (can storage insane amount of electricity, but lose half of it during the releasing and needs air sucking systems to operate) make their way, we could potentially tune EVs. It's not like it is going to feel like an ICE car, but at least they wouldn't be boring.

I don’t see a lot of aftermarket support or hype for any or most EVs other than wannabe rich kids hyping up their car with an oversized IPad and bumpers that quick release in puddles. To me, EV lovers are one step away from being a r/FuckCars browser.

With the coming onslaught of electrification coming, this does bring up an interesting point. Will the Model S and its variants need a modified 'vintage' car clause put on the books when 'motor swaps' and battery packs need upgrading? (Yeah, they probably don't have that kind of shelf life beyond even 5 years, however one can hope SynGas becomes a thing.) God, the very idea sickens me, but that's the way of the future *gag*

@C-M-E2 жыл бұрын
@@samjohannes9969 The idea has been around a long time (I believe I looked into it in the late 90s, but even before then) of refining coal into gasoline (SynGas is the industry generic term), as the US has extensive coal deposits and the gasification process isn't terribly difficult. It would have been a bridge from getting away from OPEC to the US self-fueling the energy market, but too many hands wanting 'grease' keeps it from going mainstream, among environmental issues of course.
