You know how sometimes at weddings around say 11pm there'll be a recently divorced dad, who gets on the dancefloor and sings and dances out all his emotions, every single feeling he can't express or even fully understand, he just puts it all out there in one great big cathartic release. The lead singer of Future Islands is like that in every gig, and I love it so much.

I understand the comparison however there are so many more layers to Sam’s performances. He comes across gimmicky on the surface but when you delve deeper into their material you realise this man is reliving his past experiences out on stage and opening up his heart to the masses.
