Between the Lines: Decoding and Defying Censorship in Libraries (9:15 am - 10:45 am)
Erin Berman (Alameda County Library, Co-Editor of ALA’s upcoming Intellectual Freedom Manual) and Justin Wasterlain (PLP, ALA Law for Librarians trainer) will discuss the current state of library censorship, legal issues affecting censorship, and how libraries can prepare for potential access challenges.
The Future of the MLIS Degree (11:00 am - 11:45 am)
Jayanti Addleman (Director of Library Services, Hayward Public Library), Henry Bankhead (Deputy Director of Library Services, Berkeley Public Library) and Anthony Chow (Director, SJSU School of Information) will discuss the pros and cons of MLIS requirements for librarian positions and the decision-making behind either choosing to maintain the requirement or moving away from it.

Serving a Multilingual Community (1:30 pm - 2:30 pm)
Xima Avalos (Adult Services Manager, San Francisco Public Library), Richard Le (Branch Manager, San Francisco Public Library), Maynard Martinez (Youth Services Librarian, Mountain View Public Library) and Joe Stoner (Manager, Alameda County Library) will discuss the opportunities and challenges of serving a multilingual community. The speakers will share their experiences and the programs, services, and strategies they developed to ensure the needs of all their patrons are being met.
Library Sustainability Projects (2:45 pm - 3:45 pm)
Carla Avitabile (Librarian II, San Mateo Public Library), Albert Garcia (Librarian III, Contra Costa County Library), and Julie Moore (Adult Services Librarian, Sunnyvale Public Library) will discuss their experiences with creating programming and projects related to sustainability.
