if he waits for 6-7 months more, he can expect 180-200% hike from deloitte aswell fix only and variable extra. For 2.5 yoe deloitte gives analyst but fpr 3.1+ deloitte gives consultant position. Trust me deloitte has so good projects for sap abap/rap/btp, etc.

It will be hard to join as coz of gap but you can start with ABAP if you are interested in coding and if you're from technical background else you can go for any functional area. Initially you've to join some startup or small scale company as you'll get experience you can switch further.
