Sam, loved this interview and it was especially interesting hearing from a guy that just deals with harsh commercial facts. EG, Seiko prices haven't gone up, you just arent getting grey market pricing anymore or an LE of 5000 might not sound very limited but for Seiko that means a big dealer might get 2 or finally we might not like the new 5KX but for Seiko is a massive hit.

Always a pleasure to listen to Marc. He always tells it like it is. Presently I am in Europe on business, and yes, Elysee watches are still sold. I have no idea with regard to their popularity.

This was a great podcast. Lots of great information. I have bought some Islander watches, I have been very impressed with quality for the price. I really appreciate hearing some of the reasons why Seiko does what they do. From there standpoint, it makes sense. Definitely unfortunate for the customers. I wonder how Gnoman does it. They are a Seiko AD and sell JDM models internationally. I wonder if they have some kind special deal with Seiko.

Yep I wonder that also, they must have some wright behind them as they get some of the big brands to make exclusive models also like Squale.

It’s sad that the biggest part of the customers doesn’t know much about watches! And the brands are kind of driven by them. Hopefully there are still room for us inhere trying to know more about watches. 🤓
