You can’t really tell how fast the engineer is because this is not a continuous recording. They just put all recorded takes back to back. So all the time he was arranging is not part of this recording. You barely can hear it, but at certain times you hear the recording cuts mid sentence. For example: 13:15

Chill, it’s definitely not AI & they never intended for the public to hear it, it’s a leak. This is just a random recording session for a song that never officially released so they were goofing off more. The old school rappers you’re probably used to would write out all their songs on paper so when they come in the booth all they have to do is read it & get the vocal delivery right, so their recording session would sound way different than this. There’s nothing wrong with freestyling & punching in, it helps you create a more spontaneous energy & hopefully capture lightning in a bottle while you’re in the middle of a flow state. Also if you’re still on that old corny “north vs south” hating ass shit you gotta get with the times, every region has their own unique style/culture & it’s all hiphop at the end of the day. I like the more traditional grimy NY boombap sound too but oldheads that automatically hate on everything new made it less cool so it fell off

They are though, this particular song isn’t the best example because I don’t think it even officially released. But to go in the booth with nothing, sculpt out all the Melodies/hooks/verses from off the top of your head & come out with a hit song that people love & make money is a unique talent. They have made literally 1000s of songs this way & millions of dollars, I guarantee you can’t do the same thing & have the same result so easily. There’s luck to it & of course the producers of the beats deserve credit too but this does take talent (& persistent work ethic) even if their sound is not your cup of tea
