Bruce Robison! Saw some great shows in Virginia with him & Kelly Willis, one of my favorite songwriters & this one is a burner, love your cover & thank you Katie Crutchfield for leading me here! Edit: have to give credit to Doug Sahm for recording this in 1973 & Atwood Allen for writing it, Bruce introduced me, Futurebirds brought it back, just found a chill version by Son Volt & now I know where it was born, full circle!

@@jimmanire3646 Been a while since I saw the credits so looked it up & this is Bruce Robison's from his 1995 self-titled lp, a really great album he wrote all the songs for, including the legendary Travellin Soldier. One of the finest singers, writers & pickers around, also check out his ex-wife & singing partner Kelly Willis for more brilliant Austin alt-country Americana, she's on duet/harmony/backing vocals on all his releases.
