I think majority of what you said will happen in 2030 but not Human AI that probably 2050. I know you didn’t mentioned this but Will USA go metric by then as to simplify things as no countries will go back to old system, when metric is easier to understand. Also as the world’s becomes connected would we eventually drive on right in every country, if we choose to do it.

@@NicholasJH96 When I mentioned Human-level AI, I meant a language model AI that is able to consistently pass a Turing test. I agree that a strong Artificial General Intelligence that can perform practically everything an average person can (with human-level consciousness) is decades away.

Yes. Only 8 years. And it will be.a world hardly recognizable for many. And it won't be a utopian world portrayed in this video. Too many unknowns. Predicting the future. By making educated guesses. Never calls it right. And there have been the prediction of a Utopian paradise quite a few times over the decade's of the 20th century. And into the 21st century.

I was hoping you would say something about asteroid mining. That's one of my favorite future technologies and I've been loosely following it since more than 6 or seven years ago. But I guess there are too many roadblocks for it to become a reality. I think it is one of the most important and amazing things that can happen to us.
@ScarlettM
@ScarlettM 2 жыл бұрын
If people create "atomic 3d printers" then asteroid mining will become obsolete (since anything can be made into anything). So it's possible that we will never mine the asteroids. But it is a cool concept. I personally would like to visit an asteroid mine.
@LuisTorres-zm2xd
@LuisTorres-zm2xd 2 жыл бұрын
@@ScarlettM tbh asteroid mining sounds way more possible than a hypothetical atomic 3d printer. Can you elaborate on what that concept is???
@ScarlettM
@ScarlettM 2 жыл бұрын
@@LuisTorres-zm2xd Basically you take individual atoms and combine them into what ever matter you want. You can take an old boot, and use it's atoms to create a ripe red apple. Everything is made of atoms; we just need to learn to control them. In lab they can already do that; take individual atoms and combine them; it takes a long time and it's a difficult process. But AI and quantum computers should give it a huge push forward, so that atomic printer can become reality before asteroid mining.

We definately do have the technology and potential to do all those things but because of outdated laws and the fact making a law takes ages there are roadblocks to achieving that future. Essentially there needs to be a political shift, though there is a lot of danger in thid because the general population doesnt have that much power. Likley it would be organisations like the WEF that would promote their own politics and if this happens we will be living in a very dystopian cyberpunk future.

Most cybernetics futurists are stuck in the past. They're running off predictions that were made in the 1970's. Circuits and nerves are just not compatible systems. Anything can be made to work with enough engineering, of course, but it's not how people originally imagined. Meanwhile, genetic tech is progressing faster than predicted. If we imagine it as a racetrack, genetics are poised to lap cybernetics.

It is well and good that these fixed in time predictions are made. However they misconstrue how the the future unfolds. As an admittedly amateur futurologist, I lean on the past to predict the future. To keep it short, we are in an exponential growth curve that began in 1980 and has grown enormously over time. Tracking main industries and weighting change over time, it is possible to see that between 2020 to the 2030's will present enormous pressure to change each year, growing by compound (exponential) growth. Five years we will see changes come out that will blow the mind of those born before 2000. This just the tip of the iceberg. It gets crazier as we near 2045 and the 600th anniversary of the invention of the printing press. That I call Tomorrow Land. At the anniversary of the completion of the USA Continental Railroad, in 2069, we enter Fantasyland or Alice's Wonderland where all predictions are upside down and sideways. Enjoy the Trip!! 😍😁😂

One terabyte a second sounds amazing, but videogames in the future will probably be dozens of petabytes, so they'll still take forever to download. I was a DOS gamer in the early 90s, when most games took up less than a megabyte and could fit easily on a 1.44 Mb floppy disk (a game like Day Of The Tentacle, at 98 Mb, was enormous), so my mind would have been blown back then by what technology is capable of now.
