A "flying car" built by Chinese electronic vehicle maker Xpeng Inc (9868.HK) made its first public flight in the United Arab Emirates, as the company works towards launching the electric aircraft on international markets.
The X2 is a two-seater electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft that is lifted by eight propellers - two at each corner of the vehicle.

so it's a version of a drone. I think that flying cars will never be more than a novelty, because you will still need a pilot's license, which a very large portion of the population would never pass, and if the sky were full of lying cars, you would block out the sun, and every fender bender would result in fatalities.

We know that Henry Ford invented the first vehicle available to the masses, but it was Mercedes Benz who invented the first automobile. Imagine the world of work. More specifically, the global auto industry. Going deeper, the car factories. In your opinion, inserting concepts from Karl Marx and Joseph Schumpeter, what are the most relevant changes between Ford factories in the USA in 1960 and Porsche factories in Germany in 2020? When comparing the Ford factories in the USA in the 1960s to the Porsche factories in Germany in 2020, there are several relevant changes that can be observed through the lens of Karl Marx and Joseph Schumpeter's theories. From a Marxist perspective, one of the most significant changes is the shift in labor practices and worker exploitation. Ford's factories in the 1960s were notorious for their strict assembly line systems and Taylorism-inspired management style, which prioritized efficiency and productivity over worker satisfaction and well-being. Workers were expected to perform repetitive, monotonous tasks with little autonomy or input, leading to high levels of alienation and dissatisfaction. In contrast, Porsche's factories in 2020 have adopted more collaborative and participatory labor practices, with workers playing a more active role in the production process. This reflects a move away from the strict hierarchies and top-down management styles of the past and towards a more democratic and decentralized approach to work. Schumpeter's theory of creative destruction is also relevant when comparing the two factories. In the 1960s, Ford's factories were at the forefront of mass production techniques, with the assembly line system revolutionizing the manufacturing industry. However, this model eventually became outdated and gave way to new forms of production, such as lean manufacturing and just-in-time systems, which prioritize flexibility and efficiency over mass production. Porsche's factories in 2020 reflect this shift towards more flexible and adaptive production methods. They have embraced new technologies and automation to improve efficiency and reduce waste, while also prioritizing quality and customization. Overall, the changes between the Ford factories in the USA in 1960 and the Porsche factories in Germany in 2020 reflect broader shifts in the global auto industry towards more collaborative and democratic labor practices and more flexible and adaptive production methods. 0:03 [Content generated by ChatGPT. We don't know if we're going too far, but exercising a bit of futurology. What do you expect, from an economic point of view, from flying cars? As an AI language model, I can provide a perspective based on current trends and research, but it's important to note that the future of flying cars is uncertain and many factors could influence their economic impact. Assuming that flying cars become a viable mode of transportation in the future, there are several potential economic implications to consider. One of the main benefits of flying cars is that they could help reduce traffic congestion and travel time, particularly in urban areas. This could have positive impacts on productivity, as people could spend less time commuting and more time working or engaging in leisure activities. However, the cost of flying cars would likely be high, at least initially, which could limit their adoption and accessibility. In addition, the development and production of flying cars would require significant investment in new infrastructure, including airports and landing pads, which could be costly. There are also potential environmental concerns associated with flying cars, including increased noise pollution and emissions. These factors could lead to regulatory challenges and impact the long-term economic viability of the technology. Overall, while flying cars have the potential to revolutionize transportation and have positive economic impacts, there are also significant challenges and uncertainties that must be considered. It's difficult to predict exactly what the economic impact of flying cars will be without more information about their development and adoption. 1:11 [Content generated by ChatGPT. Flying crash cars landing at homes and buildings, more risk of lifes for all those on the ground. Is sad in this world we live in. This is what the new generation wants more technology with these machines in the air, a risk to the people that are on the ground, the devil's system it's crazy word!!!

Actually there is already a pilot-less robo flying taxi in commercial operation in China. The company is called EHang. It's been in operation for around 2 (or 3) years. Unfortunately it doesn't operate in cities. It only operates on set routes in the countryside. Maybe it was because they were too much ahead of their time 2 years ago, so they couldn't convince the authorities to hand them a permit 2 (or 3) years ago to fly in the cities.

Stretching the definition of a car quite a bit here. I call it an Arial passenger vehicle. Not quite an airplane by definition.

OK, so 99 % of cars have 1 person in them.... My concept of the perfect flying car is a "snap on snap off" 1-person lite weight electric snap on /off cart with a separate top fitting powerful snap on/off drone. When you get close to where you fly into you can un snap the cart and drive to where you need to go. You own the cart but the expensive drone is rented and arrives from the drone post ready to go. Keep the cost low and always have a fully charged snap on drone ready to go. Lots of Drone Ports (Think the new gas station) everywhere storing drones ready to go. On a long trip you just stop at a drone port and switch out the drone for one fully charged up. 99% of people could afford this! Keep it simple...... use what we have.... Once perfected this will totally disrupter old fashion expensive cars, clogging up highways and save environment at same time...??? Let’s snap on a lite cart to a powerful drone (like Volvocopter 18 blade super structure} and make it work for everyone. I AI CONTROLS WITH GPS SHOULD MAKE THIS AN AUTONOMOUS PILOT FROM POINT A TO B...... JUST TELL ALEXIS WHERE YOU WANT TO GO........ Then the whole trillion-dollar highway infrastructure budget can now be used to bulldoze down slums and build quality affordable homes with a drone port on the roof….! WOW….! WE NEED TO THINK SMALL INORDER TO GO BIG! I think this is totally feasible right now for under $10,000 for cart plus rental fees for drone per use?
