First time I've seen NF as a featured artist. This guy is becoming my favorite rapper of all time. His songs and lyrics in general are so deep, dark yet heartfelt. That's reality, I'm a addict ( 1year clean), survivor of a head on collision caused by a drunk driver, i e been married and divorced, and served as a volunteer fire department for 4 years. ... I just turned 29. Life isn't always pretty but it's beautiful trip

Yeah, I had an epiphany That I could put all of my hurt into music And use it for people that might feel the same as me Yeah, I had an epiphany What if everyone knew my depression was worse than they thought? They probably gonna look at me differently Yo, this song got me going back, when I was a stupid kid Thinking maybe I could make it in the music biz And then I figured out the politics And realized that half of y'all don't even know what music is Ain't going nowhere, I told 'em to get used to me Feels like I'm living in a movie scene A bunch of people trying to tell me how to act and breathe One thing I never let nobody ever do was tell me who to be I never got into the party scene Maybe I was just scared to drink 'Cause addiction it runs in my family That's someone I was scared to be You're looking pitiful compared to me Since I can barely read All I wanted was somebody I could trust That I knew would keep it real with me Rap's always been a mirror for me That's when I figured out that maybe I'm the one that's gotta make it on my own, yeah, it's clear to see A lot of people think that what I'm doing is a gimmick Everything you hear me writing I've been living I ain't quitting, send the money to my family Try to show them that I miss them And I cherish every moment when I'm home and when I'm with them And this is the way that I feel In the industry of fakes trying to stay real In the industry of lames trying to get deals Lord knows I'ma get it, that's Meek Mill Yeah, I lay in my bed at night thinking "There's got to be more to me" I'm trying to pay off the mortgaging But the life of the people I love in the midst of it I've always thought that if I learn from mistakes that I'd make Even the losses are victories That's when it starts hitting me If you set your mind to it, you can do anything [Outro: NF] That's an epiphany That's an epiphany, yeah I had an epiphany I had an epiphany, yeah

For those of you saying Nate "Sold out" for doing a song with a non-Christian rapper, Listen here. He didn't. Just because he does a song with an artist that doesn't share the same beliefs as him, it doesn't mean he sold out. He isn't even a Christian rapper, He's a rapper. Religion has nothing to do with it, although his talent was gifted from god. Would you call yourself a Christian lawyer? Or plumber? Or a christian gas-station manager? No. You're a lawyer, or a plumber, or a gas station manager. At the end of the day, if you happen to be Christian, that's who you are. Just because you associate yourself with atheists or Muslims or any other religion does not necessarily mean you're abandoning your religion, or that he's a sell-out. Nate can rap with whoever he wants, and doesn't need people to judge him. I'm happy to say that I've been a fan for two years, and got my mom and 2/4 siblings hooked on his music 😄
@KyleAckerProductions6 жыл бұрын
Thank You!! Well, Said!!! Ok, gotta rant here. If you are a Christian (I am, so this means me too) we are called to reach out to others and LOVE THEM!!! No matter who they are, how they look, where they came from, period. You don't have to agree with how someone thinks or with what they do to treat them with kindness and respect. I'm so tired of seeing all the fake crap that media feeds people. The TV pastors, the "Christians" who blast people on TV and hate on other religions, it is ridiculous. To be a Christian is to strive to be like Christ. Even if someone doesn't believe in the spiritual side of Christianity as their Faith or a religion that doesn't matter. Treating people with respect and kindness is what Christ did and if you are claiming you are Christian you should strive to do that as well. I think NF or anyone for that matter who reaches out and connects with people outside their bubble is being Christ-like. Christ didn't just go to churches or synagogues all the time and forget the hurting world around him, he spent most of his ministry in the streets with the poor, sick, and hurting. So even if you don't believe in Christ as the Saviour that is spoken of in The Bible, he was a good person and treated people with love and respect. I think that is a little bit of what our world needs these days. Ok, rant over. Penguin Riot I think you are completely right. I like the collab they did and think it's a great way for NF to reach outside his audience.
@kristimartinez75286 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. Very well said
@Kevin_13376 жыл бұрын
His music is actually Hip Hop/Christian Hip Hop. Stop calling him a rapper when it's way different than the music that NF does. I don't understand why people can't understand the difference between a rapper and a Hip Hop artist! And this gets me mad that you all just assume that he is a rapper just because of the way he makes his music. Christian Hip Hop is rare for people to do but he is one of the first ones to do it. We all must respect his music and stop calling him a rapper because he's singing to tell us about life not like rappers who does it to brag about their "life" and make money. NF is nowhere near that in ANY of his music and in his lyrics!
@cryotherapper36926 жыл бұрын

This is such a great collab. They balanced each other, they kept the message, and they didn't try to one up each other. My question is why is the comment section trying to undermine this masterpiece by saying who was the best or just congratulating one artist? I'm NF's fan but I can clearly see the amazing talent Futuristic has and even though he cusses, he has a message and a purpose and that's something you can't take away from him... so let go of the politics, stop fighting and look beyond your superficial brains, you will find the beauty of this song. Futuristic keep doing what you do! God Bless.

I listened to this song over and over, and I'm realising that Futuristic seems to really be realising that he needs to make "music that matters". He's coming to a change of mind and change of heart. As the Bible says though, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind" and I realised he uses a word that many disagree with, we shouldn't be too hard on him. Respect bro. You'll have those who come along to encourage you on this walk, and those who may try to tear you down, but you have to be sure you know what you want. #epiphany

[Verse 1: Futuristic] I had an epiphany I was repeating history I was doing everything I hated The weight on my shoulders I let it all get to me (I let it all get to me) I had an epiphany I just smiled at my enemies I was listenin' to everybody who was talkin' But never did shit for me, yeah I had an epiphany I was lookin' at everybody else that's up in the industry They ain't as sick as me (They ain't as sick as me) I had an epiphany I was seein' somebody that never had no good intentions for me Now she missin' me, yuh (Now she missin' me) Yeah, moral of the story is nobody did it for me Had to make a change (Nah) I was livin' in the city with no scene I had a dream I had to make a lane (Yup, yup) Always knew that I couldn't live off of minimum wage Rippin' the pay stub (Woo) I had a minimal taste for all the fame stuff (Woo) But I got into the game without a cent to my name And now I'm ballin' like I'm in the NBA, bruh And I know I got a lot but I'm not content (Yeah) If they ask me to stop, I will not consent (Yeah) Never let nobody block 'cause my shot to miss (Yeah) You can meet me at the top if you hop the fence And you climb the stairs And you fight the beast And you lose your way Then you find your peace And you do it sober Then you find a drink Then you spiral down And it all repeats And I always had a vision I could get it So I did it by my lonely I don't owe nobody nothin', never let nobody own me Got some money from the music, and I spend it on the homies But don't put nothin' before me, gave a whip to little brodie And I'm only gettin" started (Started) And I'm eatin' with the people that I starve with (Starve with) And my batteries, I had to recharge 'em (Recharge) I made an album but that shit was garbage Yo, I was trapped in a gimmick I finally get it I'm here to make music that matters If I die, it'll all be alright 'Cause the message I gave you will live for me after And my chapter will highlight a lifetime (Lifetime) Of energy gave through a bright mind (Bright mind) How you never had to stand on the sideline? (Sideline) How you the guide to your own guidelines?
@os-zodiac Жыл бұрын
That's an epiphany I had an epiphany, yeah That's an epiphany I had an epiphany, yeah [NF:] I had an epiphany That I could make history That I could prove everyone wrong That told me I wasn't cut out for this music thing, yeah I had an epiphany What if I took my energy And used it on positive things in my life Instead of the people that lie to me, huh? Yeah, I had an epiphany That I could put all of my hurt into music And use it for people that might feel the same as me Yeah, I had an epiphany What if everyone knew my depression was worse than they thought? They probably gonna look at me differently Yo, this song got me going back, when I was a stupid kid Thinking maybe I could make it in the music biz And then I figured out the politics And realized that half of y'all don't even know what music is And going nowhere, I told 'em to get used to me Feels like I'm living in a movie scene A bunch of people trying to tell me how to act and breathe One thing I never let nobody ever do was tell me who to be I never got into the party scene Maybe I was just scared to drink 'Cause addiction it runs in my family That's someone I was scared to be You're looking pitiful compared to me Since I can barely read All I wanted was somebody I could trust That I knew would keep it real with me Rap's always been a mirror for me That's when I figured out that maybe I'm the one that's gotta make it on my own, yeah, it's clear to see A lot of people think that what I'm doing is a gimmick Everything you hear me writing I've been living I ain't quitting, send the money to my family Try to show them that I miss them And I cherish every moment when I'm home and when I'm with them And this is the way that I feel In the industry of fakes trying to stay real In the industry of lames trying to get deals Lord knows I'm a get it, that's Meek Mill Yeah, I lay in my bed at night thinking "There's got to be more to me" I'm trying to pay off the mortgaging But the life of the people I love in the midst of it I've always thought that if I learn from mistakes that I make Even losses are victories That's when it starts hitting me If you set your mind to it you can do anything That's an epiphany That's an epiphany, yeah I had an epiphany I had an epiphany, yeah

Edwin Tobias They WERE the opposites. That's the whole point of the song. If you listen to Futuristics's lyrics he literally says that his album was garbage and that he was stuck in a gimmick. Now he's leaving that to make music that matters. The word the song is named after literally means "spiritual awakening." They were opposites and this song is futuristics way of leaving that

So can we just appreciate that and stop pointing out the fact that he’s Christian, music has no religion, pain has no religion, so why does it matter that he’s Christian can’t he just be human.

CHASE PETERS I agree that swearing can take away the grace of a song. But I also think it depends on the context of the song. Very emotional songs can be enhanced with swearing sometimes, especially if it's out of anger. Swear words are often used as emphasis words, so it can highten the emotion that the song is portraying. Saying swear words just to fill in syllables of a line, however, shows lack of creativity. In my opinion at least.

soldseperately I agree with your cursing and creativity point. I can't listen to rappers that end every bar with the n word, shows no skill or creativity

Everyone's quoting NF songs trying to prove he's a Christian rapper but the quotes have nothing to do with being a Christian rapper the only thing the quotes state is the fact that he is Christian but he claims he doesn't know what a Christian rapper is he's just a rapper who's Christian he's just classified as a Christian rapper if your a real fan you wouldn't go against NFs words 🔥 #RealMusic

No doubt, there's a difference between being a Christian rapper and a rapper who is a Christian. Which I think he's the second of the two. I have no problem with that. His music is 🔥
@morgan46817 жыл бұрын
Nocturnal Prodigy he is Christian and is open about that but his music is NOT all based around that. Its based on things he has been through not just God. when he talks about his it's about how he wonders sometimes if God is up there or talking about how his faith in God helped him get through everything.

Wish You Wouldn't question NF cus he's Real.All I Have is him and my Notepad.He's the reason I can Breathe and not have to go to a Therapy Session.I get Lost In The Moment when I listen to him.I'll Keep On telling you that he is the Only One.You all need to Wake Up and get Motivated, can you Understand Me?If you dont like him, then Face It. I'm just trying to make a Statement.His music is an Escape, you're not Alone.Turn The Music Up and just listen to his verses.That's all I have to say,Goodbye.
