Emmanuel Zambrini Cruzeiro - IT researcher and Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico - was interviewed by RTP about “Willow”, the quantum processor by Google.
The “Willow” processor boasts unparalleled computational power, solving in just five minutes a problem that would take the world’s most advanced supercomputer ten septillion years - an incomprehensible timeframe far exceeding the universe’s age.
Zambrini explained that the processor operates according to the principles of quantum mechanics, describing it as “the most accurate theory we have for understanding how nature works and how the human brain works."
