One way to notice the ambient sounds without lowering the music is switching to a menu that takes a while to load (like the cafe). During the loading screen, the BGM from the l2d stops, but the ambient sound still plays (at least for Hoshino's, which is what I usually use).

So far the most enjoyable ambience L2D sound is Swimsuit Saki (yeah it's underwater and I totally asleep with it) and also Swimsuit Hanako (the Waterfall never fails for calming ambience)

I have checked a lot of the ambient noise. kinda funny you need to make it loud to clearly hear it. but on my phone if I turn of the music the ambient is so loud on my end. its a bit funny that most of the ambient inside a room l2d sounds like a very strong aircon blowing lol

I think it's quite peaceful, the sounded like ship/boat breezing through the wave and water, the creaking sound of the platform, nothing too creepy. I find it weird with Base Fuuka's L2D though, I didn't hear the voice of boiling water, it doesnt sounds like a voice boiling water. It sounds more like... an industrial area in the open?

It’s because the sound of the boiling is drowned out by the “industrial area” white noise so it can be hard to catch, but the distinct sound of the “pops” you’d hear when water boils is definitely there if you listen closely enough. Also yeah, after hearing it more than a few times now, it isn’t the creepiest thing in the world. I may be biased as I first heard it at 2AM and was just disturbed at how noticeably different it was compared to the rest of the other ambient noises I was able to listen to. Mind you I had earbuds on at max volume, so it felt like Fuuka was staring deep into my soul as what sounds like the boiling of lava from the depths of hell were playing full blast into my ears.
