Hi Jason, When I was 13 I got to see AC-DC open for KISS at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. It was Christmas time in 1978. By the end of the next summer I saved 400 bucks and got my first Gibson SG.

My favorite concert was seeing mastodon live in 2017 with eagles of death metal. It was right before Halloween and Brent hinds wore a clown outfit and jammed a song with eodm. But the highlight of the show was during one of mastodons songs, Brent hinds guitar cut out during a solo, so he took his guitar, a Gibson Flying V, and shoved the headstock down the front of his pants. I was front row right in front of him and I was extremely confused at what was happening, but great show overall.

A couple years ago I took my wife and girls to see Shinedown in Fort Wayne, Indiana. We got right up next to the stage and got to see the whole show up close and personal. The coolest part was that it was my girls very first concert, and Shinedown put on an amazing show. The girls still talk about it today and are big Shinedown fans. Memories, for me it was all about making memories!

I was "Loud Rock Director" for my college radio station in DC and I'll never forget my first time going backstage at a venue to interview a band. It was the 9:30 Club and we interviewed the guitarist from The Locust. Given their stage costumes/aesthetic, it was a bit surreal to just find a normal, down-to-earth guy sans costume and mask. And then later at the show, the band comes out and does their thing. It was a good reminder about the power of a live performance and the ability to craft a presence and sense of mystery, which obviously lives on in all sorts of bands today.

Hello from Russia, Volgograd 5-6 years ago we had a local stoner/sludge scene. At one time we managed to play with bands that shared the stage with CROWBAR and EYEHATEGOD. And many others. So, at one of the concerts, guys called The Universe came. And while everyone was performing and giving gifts in the form of T-shirts and CDs, these guys just opened a huge bag of weed, and killed everyone first with their stuff, and then with their sound. It was a truly amazing experience. Huge greetings from the GREENGRAVE group. Thank you for what you do.

Saw Mastodon open for Coheed at Northerly Island in Chicago. My wife was with me. She wanted to go into the pit. Never had she been in the trenches. A guy who stood around 5'6 bumped into her pretty hard. He turned and looked as if he was gonna say something mean until he saw me standing there, all 6'4 230lbs of me. He immediately apologized and I went to shake his hand as my wife was fine. He jumped as if he thought I was gonna hurt him. He gave me all the weed in his pocket (like 15 joints), then took off. I laughed until I cried. I found him closer to the stage and told him we were good. We smoked a few joints and enjoyed the show. Never saw him again.

My all time fav show is, Tuesday Aug 15th 2000 in Montreal Quebec. ACDC, my all time fav. Opened by slash’s snake pit. They were ok, and once DC cane out of the gate with You Shook Me All Night Long, I just started to cry. Like full on big baby cry. The full meal lineup of Brian, Angus, Malcolm, Cliff and Phil. It completely changed my life for the better. Playing live was what I needed to do either my life. Mind you it’s a small town band kinda thing but you get the idea.

One of my first and best, the Ramones at Uncle Sam's in Nantasket Beach on Cape Cod in August 1980. I was 14, and got in somehow. The Ramones played either two sets or one long one and were probably the most solid band I've ever seen. I remember a lot of bikers, a lot of beer drinking, a very tightly packed and excited crowd

One of my first concerts was a Red Hot Chili peppers concert, and it was amazing for my first, one notable thing when I was in the nosebleeds it was the energy from John and Flee that really had me going. They both had a little solo section that I will never forget, just an interlude of guitar and bass putting me into a trans making me feel like I was floating. When the concert was over, A lady gave me a free rchp shirt, luckly it was in my size so I was extra happy that day.

I saw Tool on a side stage at Lollapalooza in '93 in Mountain View, CA; they went on right after a juggling chainsaw act (I was about ten feet from the stage watching Tool's performance). Primus also performed at that show (I got Tim Alexander's autograph, and a few pictures of him walking around the side shows before they played).

I had the opportunity to see The Cramps at the Fillmore in San Francisco on Halloween, 2000. Lux Interior held the audience in the palm of his hand all night long. People showed up in costume and there was one guy who was dressed up as the old man off the cover of Led Zeppelin IV, complete with the bundle of sticks. I'd be watching the show and I'd keep catching him out of the corner of my eye, or in an alcove upstairs, it was as if the ghost of rock 'n roll was in attendance that night.

March 19th, 2001. Troubadour, West Hollywood. Some friends of mine suggested we go see Electric Wizard live. Other bands on the bill were Acid King, Goatsnake and Warhorse. At the time I had no idea what any of the bands sounded like but they assured me it would be good. When we arrived, the mighty WARHORSE went on stage and completely FLOORED me. I was mesmerized by Todd's psychedelic doom blaring out of a Crate Blue Voodoo. After a constant diet of Death Metal over the last few years, this was a welcomed surprise. Up next were Goatsnake. The Joey Castillo and Ron Holzner era. Again I had no idea who they were but again I was floored. Midway through the set, I realized why I recognized the singer, holy shit! It's Pete from Scream! Acid King played a classic set and even played a new song they wrote on the way to the show from the Bay Area. Last but not least were Electric Wizard. They completely blew the roof off of the Troubadour. The sheer magnitude of the riffs and volume made it one of the loudest bands I've ever seen. All on Todd's Blue Voodoo. I left that night inspired and motivated (I started playing guitar as a result), grabbing ahold of any record that was remotely Doom Metal.

Well, i would have to say Black Sabbath , Sheffield City Hall 1986. Although at that time Tony Iommi was the only original member, it was the first time I'd seen Sabbath. Having been been a massive fan since around 1980 it was amazing to hear those songs i'd listened to played live. At that time most of my mates were into bands like Ratt, Dokken, Motley Crue, and Sabbath were at a low point, the City Hall was only half full! I was was on the balcony right above Tony, he even nodded and winked at me, I know because there was nobody else near me! The programme they were selling was the one from the previous Born Again tour! I still have it and also the T Shirt that I bought.

My first real concert was Van Halen back in 1981. I was a huge Van Halen and particularly an Eddie Van Halen fan. The concert was amazing and they performed all the good songs. My aunt and her friend took my brother and I to the concert. It was the day after my birthday. My aunt is only 4 years older than me, so my brother and I got WTF looks from older guys because we were with a couple of 20 year old women, who both dressed for the occasion if you know what I mean. I had a blast. Another concert I will never forget was Ozzfest 1999. My wife and I got to see so many bands including Black Sabbath with Ozzy. Slayer, System of the Down, Primus, Rob Zombie, Drain STH, and a young unknown band called Slipknot also performed. This was the last concert my wife went with me because some asshole decided he couldn't go to the restroom to go urinate. My wife was disgusted, I didn't blame her. Overall, I had a good time expect for the idiot who didn't want to use the restroom.

7 ish years ago Seeing mastodon VIP after I couldn't see them at 16 super stocked to see em and meet the band and the bassist le made fun of me after I told him I'm an aspiring bassist for my buddy's band dream and he looks at my long nails on my fretting hand laughs and say" who the fuck do you think you are nosferatu?!... hahahah " and then took a band selfie with me 😅 and I still find it inspiring to this day.

My favorite concert experience was seeing Zakk Sabbath and when into the void came on a pit broke out, I distinctly remember a very large very sweaty man yelling " I'm being polite compared to last time I saw slayer" and he immediately started windmill kicking children and moshing...the brim of his hat went right into my eye and I wore a lovely shiner for a week... His response to hitting me was a long uncomfortable hug....shouts out to that homie....

Fugazi at the P.W.A.C. Long Island in the late 90s, Red Medicine tour. Destroyed me and my brothers mind. Most raw sound ever. Right up on the stage. They have photos of us clapping to "public witness program" on the discord archive. Ps a bit off topic but I worked on this years ago with a bunch of friends for Tony’s birthday. He loved it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4G3m6ttbryamacsi=ld9v64bprpdMVYO1

A buddy and I went to see Goatwhore back in like 2003-ish maybe, and we were so pumped we grabbed Sammy and Ben before the show and said 'Hey guys, wanna smoke with us??' .. So they take us backstage and we drastically overestimated how much we had and we packed this pathetic little half bowl.. It was sooooo embarrassing. The guys were super fukn cool tho and ended up smoking US out and giving us some beers.. Made our summer for a couple of broke ass 22 year olds..

I got two, my first show ever was Family Values 2007. We were living in Palm Coast, Florida at the time, but my dad took me on a trip back up to St Louis to both see extended family, and go to this festival. I wasjust getting real into music myself, digging thru dads cd collection for stuff to jam in my cd player on the way to and from school n such. Got super into Korn and Hellyeah, and when he said they were playing that festival, I was hyped lol Such an amazing day, and cemented Korn as one of my all time faves forever. We immediately agreed to wanna try and go to Ozzfest sometime, but after mom n dads divorce, and him being in the navy, being deployed again shortly after, never got around to it, but funny enough, he surprised me this year by booking us both, aswell as my aunt n uncle, onto that Headbanger's boat cruise next month lol One story that will never fade away for me is when my dad, some his buddies, one of my best friends Caleb, and I saw Machine Head and Suicide Silence in january 2012, my senior year of high school. Shit was stupid good, but machine head especially, was so fucking loud, Caleb had to step towards the barside to get away from the speakers. Dude damnnear passed out, and I was even feelin not great lol Out of all the shows I've seen at that venue, Pop's, that was a fantastic one. Made only more memorable, due to both Mitch dying in an accident in November that year, and Caleb taking his own life shortly before our graduation a few months later. Most of my shows I been to in high school, he was there with me, with his tall, Joey Ramone lookin ass lol I miss that dude every fucking day... Check on your homies, even if you think they aren't struggling or suffering from mental illness/depression, just do it.

In 2013 I found out The Flaming Lips were coming to my town so I tweeted at Wayne Coyne and asked him if my band could open for them. Long story short he said yes so we got to open for The Flaming Lips and hang out backstage the entire night and watch one of the most magical concerts put on by The Flaming Lips ever.
