I've been getting more and more into customizing figures, loving it more, and getting much better at it. I've been re-doing or taking apart customs from years ago, re-visiting and fixing them with the skills I've learned, it's great! I enjoy getting figures on clearance and then turning them into other characters I want and I've really been having a good time painting DC multiverse figures, they're relatively cheap and easy to find, it's just a nice way to pass the time when you want something semi-creative to do. Always appreciate your tips and ideas as well, thanks Robo!

That Cyclops is, well, astonishing! That look is my preferred version so I've been waiting for a Hasbro to do it on the Bucky Cap mold but this has definitely convinced me that Spider UK is the way to go.

We have the same philosophy when it comes to custom figures. I don’t need 100% screen accurate as long as I’m happy with it and it looks good with my shelf.

That’s mine too. My wife made an Iron Patriot that isn’t accurate at all, but it has the red white and blue so that was enough for me. Plus my wife made it so I have to at least enjoy it.

4:42 I have exact the same eyes paint issue with my Diamond Select Gandalf - so it could be a general QA issue. I asked my toy retailer where I bought it to look if they have one with better eye paint, but because they only got a very small shipment of Gandalfs they can‘t look yet. To be honest, the LotR line from Diamond Select is kind of an disappointment after the awesome prototypes shown on New York Toy Fair 2020.

Honestly you never cease to amaze me with play days, both in terms of your skill and the skills of the other artists whose work you present. I only do light customizing every now and then, usually just the occasional paint detail touchup but even then it's been a while. After seeing this and the Thor trailer I think I might have to go and get that Gorr figure and add some extra shading and more black drool to the face.

Great idea for that AoA Sabertooth I might have a bash at that myself. I was also planning a wash to his hair to darken it and add some depth. But I saw some amazing person do a custom that was like pelts around his waist. I think I might do that too.

After seeing your thoughts for the costume marvel mandroid, I looked up on target to see what they are going for and saw Lightyear Zurg 10" Action Figure. And thought with all that purple it wouldn't make a good sentinel body. Comes with a blaster hand and a swap out regular hand. Its a larger figure might be nice to go with the haslab sentinel that you have the master mold head on. Great video as always. keep up the amazing work.

I still Think the Model Kit is the best 1/12 R2D2 available, but I've never actually messed with the Figuarts or Mafex versions. Maybe they're better as action figures but I think the price of the Model Kit is a lot better than the figures for what you get in the package.

Awesome play day! I bought that Zyclops too to make something out of it. Such great articulation and scale. Be careful with the acetone though. I was a little heavy-handed wiping it with acetone sort of ruined the surface. Thanks for the tip on the waterslide eye decals too!

I’ve got three 8” Zyclops for Mandroids, too. Not seeing the 12”-? Version, tho? Or 6” Buzz for Ben Grimm astronaut? (Btw, that one Minions movie gave us a Mark Gruenwald figure for Gru’s antagonist. Mike Carlin was chuffed when I told him about it.) Did not need to see Sir Ian’s O-Face. Ever. 😱 ITCHY! Where’s his holoporn projector? 😂 So that line is just stretchy fishing line? (Still need that deluxe Mimic with alt.head/hands+claws and wings for Exiles. Sideeyes P.AirMax….)
