I dunno, I think that something is likely wrong with with the amp. It's hard to say because there is basically no documentation of the thing, but I have a feeling that the phono input is not amplifying the RIAA-corrected signal near enough before feeding it to the rest of the amp. Phono preamps generally output to some standard amplitude, IIRC, and this amp might not be doing it. But who knows?

He has an optical cable coming out of his laptop going into a splitter that go to different dacs that go to different amps

I have another idea for an upcoming video: a brief explanation of why brands like JVC-Kenwood are USA-challenged these days, what went wrong, what went right, why can't anybody find their headphone products at least, in retail shops here? Nobody carries them. I've read the past two days that JVC-Kenwood do produce some good headphones, nothing really upscale, but nobody in NY seemingly, carries the brands. Kenwood for car stereo, maybe. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Audio46 claims some of the JVC Xbass xplosion phones are good for heavy bass, but I'm very skeptical. Same with Onkyo or Denon. Nobody carries that shit. All my local Target stocks are: Sony wireless junk, Beats, Bose, and JBL sport earbuds.

The fan is only a four inch fan and it is about 2 feet away and not blowing directly on the tubes. i do this to cut back on the decay of the tube, because heat is what deteriorates the tube itself. i usually have it flipped around to cool me off. My office is small, and heat builds up from my computer.

What happened to to the Metz headphones haven't seen you review them yet they needed them back I bet you miss those suckers now that's a headphone Would be worth buying a multi voltage ultra low noise 50 Watts linear power supply about $50 2.5 Watts per channel for phono stage 3.3 what's on RCA per channel help the tube amp bigger power supply your get more wattage some tweaking might be needed. No that power supply link you left wouldn't bother!!! your get lot of noise coming through being switch mode the amplifier doesn't have the filtration for it, either no need 120 Watts 50w overkill.

@blakkpatron I have been to canjam to hear it, yes. But beyond that, the main reason he says the 789 is the best is because it has the best SNR and THD, which it doesn't, so it invalidates his argument. And even then, he said the cayin is practically indistinguishable in transparency, and that has much worse measurements. I know he's making a joke when he says "it is just magic", but I am now stating to believe that he genuinely thinks that.
