The standard bottle is 170 cc and fills to 230 Bar. What was the regulator set at when you shot off the bench? I noticed on the video that the first regulator was very close to 250 Bar, and the second regulator to 150 Bar. On the 3rd set, or 30th shot, you definitely fell off the regulator, so the reported "35" shot count per fill must be from a very low regulator setting, which translates to a very slow velocity. The heavy pellet touched on 27 fpe, the middle weight pellet was at 26 fpe, and the light pellet was at 25 fpe, so the heavier the pellet, the slower it travels down the barrel and has more time to absorb the kinetic energy from the expanding compressed gas molecules; also, more momentum is transferred to the pellet from the expanding gas molecules. If when you shot the tank was at 250 bar as seen on the video, and the regulator set at 150 bar as seen on the video, and you shot 30 pellets on the fill as you fell off the regulator then you used approximately 10.125 grains of air per shot to get approximately 26 fpe =/-1fpe; therefore your efficiency drops below the goal of 3.1 fpe/grain of air. You got 2.5679 fpe per grain of air, which means you can increase the efficiency to at least 3.1 fpe/gr-air by lowering the regulator pressure and backing up a bit on the hammer ever so lightly. It looks like a fun gun, but the 380mm short barrel says that you can only obtain so much velocity before you hit the point of diminishing returns and end up dumping more air out the barrel after the pellet has left the building. Because the barrel is so short, I recommend the high regulator pressure, but a light hammer blow to reduce the air volume, but the high pressure will give a quick jump start in the acceleration. The key is to set the hammer compression at 80% then adjust the regulator to your desired velocity then back down the hammer to preferably 50% compression and that should be your "sweet-spot", which vary due to harmonics you can have several "sweet-spots" depending on pellet weight, pressure on regulator and hammer compression combinations. It would be nice if you folks put the gauges perpendicular to the camera and shoot down to the regulator pressure and let the court of public opinion decide on the evidence presented. Numbers do not lie, but you can lie with numbers, and the laws of physics are not just really good ideas. Good video, I liked and subscribed Stay safe and Godspeed FJB Out!

I am however a bit worried about the length of the free floating barrel. Would a barrel band be a good idea, especially if I.e. I’m in amongst trees? I don’t want to risk damaging my barrel 😳🙄🤔🥺🤷♂️. The compact sure would be useful around farms etc 👏👏👏👍

I just received my 22. from Utah Air guns last week and can say it's a really beautiful rifle. I truly have a lot to learn because I just don't understand these power settings and how they work in relation to one another. The gun came tuned from the store firing Jumbo 15.89 at 880 FFS. With this set up I barely can shoot my 18 round mag before my cylinder pressure drops too low and my 125 PSI set regulator starts to drop as well. Instructions say to never shoot with a pressure that is below your reg pressure so I stop at that point. My question is, is this normal for the gun to barely get through 18 shots at the settings I've mentioned? Or is something off here? I know it's the standard cylinder but I thought I'd get more out of it than I'm getting. I haven't touched any of the settings because I'm not going to change what I don't understand...yet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm shooting Premiere 14.3 pellets.
@icuppu22 жыл бұрын
Well hello again Mr. trek64, I commented on your post on another video with more math than necessary. On this video, did you notice they had the regulator pressure at 150 Bar and the bottle filled to 250 Bar and still they only got 30 shots from the claimed 35 shots as they fell off the regulator? You are getting 27.318 fpe with your setup, but with a 380mm barrel that's high velocity, so you are throwing more air mass than you can benefit in the trade. Try increasing the regulator pressure and start at the lowest hammer spring compression then work up until you get at a happy medium, or get a longer barrel and a bigger bottle. You can't get a quart out of a pint; no matter what the dealer or manufacturer claims are. Do the math. A lead atom has 207.2 daltons, an air molecule, on average, has 28.96546 daltons, almost a 7:1 ratio. The pellet lead atoms start at a standstill with static friction until dynamic friction overcomes then air molecules start hitting the back of the pellet and transferring kinetic energy and momentum, but only 1/6 of the air molecules are striking the pellet, and as the pellet travels down the barrel, the volume increases and the compressed gas that is expanding is losing kinetic energy to transfer to the pellet, so the law of diminishing returns start at around 3 to 4 inches down the barrel, but we want more velocity, so we sacrifice a whole lot more air to get a few more fps. The fun part is that air molecules can only move as fast as Mach 1 in their environment, so there is a limiting factor involved, and in your case, its the barrel length. Know it, understand it and play with the adjustments, but write everything down so you can see the trends and patterns of what changes do. There are 300 Bar bottles and longer barrels to fit your needs. I wish you luck fun and enjoyment in your journey of airgunning. FJB Out!
@mrtrek642 жыл бұрын
@@icuppu2 Hello again Francisco!... Glad I caught you again because I had some time to read over all the math you posted for me which is much appreciated. Actually quite fascinating to see how to break each shot down to its fpe And yes, I've been doing nothing but watching videos lately and pausing to see where everyone is keeping their reg BAR set 🤣. Some had them at around 150 and others at around 100. So to make a long story short I was dealing with 2 faulty gauges. My reg Bar was set to 160 and not 125 which was shown. And I was not filling my tanks up fully to 230 bar. More around 200. I re-tuned the gun using a combination of all the suggestions and pointers I've received and achieved the results I'm looking for. First, with a 380mm barrel, I see no reason to bring this gun up anywhere over 830 fps. This compact version is not the platform for that kind of high-power, long-range shooting. I set the reg to just over 90 BAR which is giving me 810....15 shooting a 14.3. Adjusted the HS until I saw a slight drop-off and left it. I'm now shooting at about 805-10. I click down the HS 3 notches and this brings me to about 780-90. Right, where I want to be. Most importantly, I now get three full mags from a full 170cc bottle. In the future, I may upgrade to a long barrel for some long-range/high power shooting. But this tune will suit my very simple needs. I'm not by any means new to air gunning, just new to FX rifles and learning to tune them. I've always been a plug-and-play air gunner who just picks up his rifle and shoots shit. Thank you again for that wealth of information you shared with me and the time you took to post it. That was above and beyond for sure and I thank you for it. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

@@Trrenik0kb Relation - quality price is very good, it shows good materials and is very aesthetic, in general I like it a lot. For me it really has 3 "negative" points These Barrel X group very well even at 100m (109 yards). As I said for me it has 3 weak points .... 1 point. The manometers are not exact (differences of 20bar) easy solution buying some of 26 or 28 mm, I have changed but it should not be so. 2 point. In my opinion, heavy pellets (Exact King Heavy) fall short in cal. 25, it does not have a large low chamber (I am trying to create something to enhance this) and you can only reach about 256 - 259 ms (846 - 853 fps) at 150bar that I think is the maximum recommended, but at 130bar it works very well it will give you about 245ms (803 fps) for the King Heavy 2.2gr (34grains). With the Exact King 1.6gr (24grains) you can reach 300ms (984 fps) but for me it goes very well between 270-275 ms approx (895 fps) at 115bar. Do not hesitate to buy it, it will give you many satisfactions. The 3 weak point depends on you and the seller ...... Before buying you have to ask if the weapon has the new Valveseat SHP 19060 design (see Support - FX Airguns DRAWING AND PARTLIST) My FX Dreamline Tac, arrived with the old design of the Valveseat and broke at 500 shots ...... no problems changed in warranty and already + 5000 shots and perfect, but I was several weeks without the weapon, you have what to send etc etc I think the manufacturer (FX) should have this solved ..... Anything you have doubts here I am. 😉
